  • With the close of another remarkable year, I am proud to share the 2024 Birch Family Services Annual Report. This report captures just a few of the amazing milestones we’ve achieved this year and celebrates the resilience, growth, and success of the children, adolescents, adults, and families we support each day. I invite you to read the full Annual Report and learn more about Birch’s impact through the stories of some of the individuals and families who’ve utilized our services this past year. The report also highlights the impact of all our partners - supporters, staff, corporations, foundations, communities, government, volunteers, and our Board of Directors – working together to strengthen our community and provide the resources needed to create opportunities for the individuals and families seeking our assistance. Looking ahead to 2025, our goals are ambitious, and the need is greater than ever. With your continued partnership, we can continue to be there for those in need even further, ensuring everyone we support has the chance to thrive. Thank you for being an essential part of our Birch Family Services community. - Matt Sturiale, President and CEO https://lnkd.in/ejnbSYBf

  • As we reflect on the past year, we’re proud of all that Birch has accomplished, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you. Here are just a few of the highlights: - Opened a new Supportive Housing initiative in the Bronx, providing adults with autism their own apartments, along with the supportive services needed to successfully live independently. -Expanded our residential program by 33 beds, allowing even more individuals to experience safe, nurturing homes. -Supported over 1,000 students in Birch schools, helping them develop critical skills, confidence, and a path toward their potential. -Enhanced the quality of life and opportunities for each person we serve through innovative programs, personalized support, and community integration. But our work doesn’t stop here. As we look to 2025, we have even greater goals to accomplish, and your help is essential. Every gift, large or small, makes a profound impact. Your generosity ensures that each person we support has the resources and opportunities to thrive. Let’s start 2025 on a high note, bringing hope, support, and possibility to those who need it most. • The holiday season is a time of warmth, comfort, and home. This year, Birch’s new Supportive Housing initiative is making that joy possible for adults in our residential program. ❄️ ☃️ Our first location, at the Marion-Creston buildings in the Bronx, offers more than just apartments—it provides life-changing opportunities for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. For residents like Willy, a neurodiverse 40-year-old, the dream of living independently has finally come true. This holiday season, he’s decorating his new home, preparing to share cherished traditions with family, and excitedly looking ahead to creating new memories that reflect his independence, personality, and accomplishments. While the Marion-Creston apartments offer a foundation for independence, there’s more to do. Government funding provides a start but often falls short. Without additional support, residents like Willy lack the amenities that foster a sense of belonging. Your generosity can provide the furnishings, adaptive tools, and upgrades needed to make these houses feel like homes, empowering individuals like Willy to live with dignity and pride. The need is urgent—please donate today to help residents like Willy experience the true meaning of home this holiday season! https://lnkd.in/e97-3RDz #birch #birchfamilyservices #HolidayGiving #UrgentNeed #holidays #holidayseason #giving #seasonofgiving

  • Today, students at our Phyllis L. Susser School for Exceptional Children held their Winterfest Concert to kick off their holidays! The talented students lit up the stage with holiday songs from the Susser Youth Choir and a festive yoga demonstration. Local veterans from the New York State Veterans Home at St. Albans joined us for the show and were honored for their service and received handmade holiday cards made by the students. Family members were also able to purchase some holiday gifts made by students after the show. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this amazing celebration of community, creativity, and kindness! #togetherfortheholidays #birchfamilyservices #birch #specialeducation
