On the 26th and 27th of November, the BREADCRUMB project, coordinated by ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek), held its first General Assembly (GA) in beautiful Valencia, Spain. A heartfelt thank you goes to our Spanish partners — ANECOOP S. COOP, AINIA, and PNO Innovation (Spain) — for their exceptional organization and hospitality, which ensured the GA ran seamlessly. Your efforts truly made this event a success! Day 1, hosted at ANECOOP S. COOP's facilities, included insightful updates on the progress of WP1, WP2, and WP3. In the afternoon, the consortium visited a fruit packing station, gaining valuable firsthand insights into on-the-ground practices. Day 2, held at AINIA, highlighted the fantastic work accomplished by our 16 case studies throughout the year, including ILVO's contributions in the fruit and vegetable sector. Discussions also focused on upcoming tasks in WP4, collective efforts in communication, dissemination, and exploitation, and vital management topics in WP5 and WP6 respectively. I would also like to extend my gratitude to my colleagues —Anna Twarogowska, Rani Van Gompel, and Sofie De Man—and to all BREADCRUMB project partners for their hard work and dedication to the project. We return from the GA energized and more motivated than ever to continue our mission: mapping out innovative ways to prevent and reduce food waste, ensuring a sustainable and better future for all.
