👏🏻Meet BREADCRUMB project partner AVEC EU Poultry ! 🌍#AVEC is the voice of the European poultry meat sector. It facilitates communication and exchange between international organisations and decision-makers, and focuses on key areas like animal health and welfare, food safety and quality, trade and sustainable development. AVEC EU Poultry has 19 members in 17 countries. 🎯AVEC EU Poultry is part of the case study for meat ( 🐔 poultry). They provide insight in and data on the marketing standards used in the poultry sector in Europe (EU/national/private schemes). #AVEC would like to analyse the impact of the downgraded products from a food waste point of view because they do not fulfill the standards or market access requirements as well as propose alternatives to reduce the food waste and valorise the products in question. 📎 Visit our website for details on innovative solutions and follow for updates on progress ➡ https://lnkd.in/ddTHXb6c and follow the trail to innovation and discovery with us 💥 ! 🍎 🌽🥩🥚🌾🐟 #BREADCRUMBproject #FoodChainSolutions #FoodWaste #FoodMarketingStandards #SuboptimalFood #SocialAcceptance #EUfunded #HorizonEurope #EUresearch #FoodWasteReduction #PrivateMarketingStandards

【NEWS UPDATE】Exciting news for the animal feed industry! 🐓🐦 The European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) FEEDAP research group has evaluated a feed additive made from soap tree and yucca extract. 📊 Their scientific opinion concludes that this additive is safe for broiler chickens when used at up to 250 mg/kg, and may be applicable to other poultry and ornamental birds as well. 👍 However, more data is still needed to fully assess its efficacy across all species. 🔍 This lays the groundwork for further regulation and use of this innovative feed additive in the EU market. 🇪🇺 #AnimalFeed #FeedAdditive #FoodSafety #EFSA #FEEDAP https://lnkd.in/gBjqV9FP

How can we improve #dairy health by making better use of data and insights? SAFOSO together with TAFS Forum recently had the opportunity to discuss this with a Chinese delegation including the China Animal Health and Food Safety Alliance 国家动物健康与食品安全创新联盟(CAFA)and several key players in Chinese dairy farming and processing. Chinese dairy production is developing rapidly, and improving dairy health is therefore important to strengthen #foodsafety, to reduce #antimicrobial usage, to improve #animalwelfare, to increase value chain efficiency and to reduce the ecological footprint in the country. We are looking forward to deepening the collaboration.

Mycotoxin binding agents are substances that neutralize or bind the harmful compounds produced by molds in food and feed. They are primarily used in animal feed to reduce mycotoxin absorption, improving livestock health and productivity. The United States intends to generate over 𝗨𝗦$ 𝟱𝟴.𝟭 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 from this industry. Demand for these agents is growing due to: 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Increased recognition of mycotoxin risks. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀: Stricter food safety regulations. 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱: Rising need for safe animal feed. 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: More frequent mold growth from changing climates. Combining Profit and Food Safety: A Sustainable Solution for Poultry Health 🐥 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 we recognize the growing commitment to reduce antibiotic use while maintaining animal health and performance. Stressors like digestive issues and poor litter quality can lead to health problems, compromising both welfare and food safety. 🔬 The solution? A more sustainable approach that supports gut health, reduces the need for antibiotics, and improves farm outcomes. Our innovative C-prove 80, has been selected for EuroTier’s Innovation Award in the category of farm inputs and equipment. It combines fatty acids from fermented agricultural residues with phytogenic molecules, enhancing gut integrity, promoting dry litter and reducing the risk of disease —all while significantly reducing carbon emissions compared to traditional fatty acid sources. 📍 Want to learn more? Come and discover our full range of functional feed ingredients at the Royal Agrifirm Group's booth at EuroTier 2024, Hall 21, Booth E09, and learn how C-prove 80 can transform your operations. Controlling aflatoxin in animal feeds is essential because it directly impacts animal health, food safety, and economic stability. Aflatoxins, produced by molds like Aspergillus, can cause severe health problems in animals, such as liver damage, immunosuppression, and reduced growth, which can lead to death in severe cases. These toxins can then enter the human food chain through contaminated meat, milk, and eggs, posing significant health risks, including liver cancer. Economically, aflatoxin contamination leads to reduced productivity in livestock, financial losses from rejected products, and potential legal repercussions due to non-compliance with stringent regulatory standards. Ensuring feed is free from aflatoxins is not only a matter of protecting animal and human health but also crucial for maintaining market access, safeguarding public health, and promoting sustainable and ethical farming practices. #world food safety day

🐓 Hey Poultry-Community and Biosecurity-Specialists! Ensuring biosecurity doesn't stop at the hatchery - it's a crucial part of maintaining healthy and safe food production throughout the entire lifecycle. Today, I'm sharing a video from inside an empty broiler house during the service period. While I typically focus on biosecurity in hatcheries on Linkedin, it's equally important to maintain high standards during the later stages of animal rearing. One key aspect of maintaining #biosecurity in #poultry houses is thorough cleaning and disinfection. In the video, I'm showcasing a potential solution for disinfecting broiler houses: the 'Powerfogger' from our partner Veugen Technology . This innovative tool ensures comprehensive disinfection, helping to mitigate the risk of disease spread and ensuring a safe environment for our poultry. What's also great about working with Veugen is our ability to tailor solutions to each customer's specific needs, ensuring optimal biosecurity measures for their operations. At every stage of production, from #hatchery to #farm, we must prioritize biosecurity to produce healthy and safe food for consumers. Share your thoughts in the comments. Your insights and feedback are invaluable as we work together to maintain high standards of biosecurity and food safety in the poultry industry. Let's continue to innovate and collaborate for a healthier future 🐣 💚
