Not surprising to see AI working well in health care to automate administrative work, but still exciting when you get strong evidence of impact. If you're in a provider organization doing chart review manually or with earlier tech, Brellium has been delivering strong results automating chart review with advanced AI. They're in the First Round portfolio so I've met Zach Rosen, Brellium's founder, and seen some of the numbers, including decreasing manual chart auditing time by 98% and saving orgs material money by avoiding the need to hire FTEs or contractors. Best fits for now include provider groups working in ABA / Autism, Behavioral Health, Home Health and Therapy...and of course health plans who do this work as well. #AI #healthcare #chartreview #automation

AI is leveling the playing field in healthcare. Historically, cutting-edge tech was built for large health systems with big budgets. But today, AI advancements are bringing next-gen solutions to small and mid-sized provider groups—where so many of us receive care every day. I had the pleasure of chatting with Bryan "Buzz" White from ChartPath to talk about how AI is changing chart reviews and compliance management for LTPAC. Navigating government payer audits can be intimidating for any provider group—and for good reason. When a government payer comes knocking, they’re not just checking for general compliance; they’re scrutinizing your notes with even more rigor than a private insurer would. Government payers need to be strict because of their anti-FWA mandate — since they’re spending your tax dollars, they have an obligation to be efficient about cash spend. Hence why reducing fraud waste and abuse is monitored closely. For provider groups, this means the bar is higher. Government payers like Tricare, Medicare, and Medicaid will move more quickly towards ADRs and pre-payment reviews, and in extreme cases clawing back already paid funds. One of our earliest customers was put on a Medicaid pre-payment review, meaning their small team of three would have had to manually comb through months worth of high-stakes notes for 400 clients. With Brellium, they didn’t have to do it alone. They were able to quickly identify which notes were compliant, which needed fixes, and how to fix them—saving them months of chart review. The lesson? Proactive compliance is the best defense. By staying on top of documentation (with tools like Brellium), provider groups can minimize the time, energy, and risk associated with these high-stakes audits.

Last week, the Brellium team spent a few days in Cape May, New Jersey, for an offsite—and it was exactly what we needed. As a 100% in-person team, we’re used to collaborating in the office every day. But there’s something uniquely valuable about stepping out of our day-to-day routine and spending real time together as people—not just colleagues. For new hires, it’s a chance to get comfortable, not just with the team but with the fast-paced, collaborative environment we thrive in. For longtime team members, it’s a reminder of why we love working together. And for all of us, it’s a chance to reset, connect, and focus on what’s next. We came back with fresh ideas, stronger connections, and a clear focus on the road ahead. Investing in a team isn’t just about hiring the right people or creating the right processes—it’s about creating opportunities to come together and build something bigger than any one of us. Looking forward to what’s next!

  • In theory, QA should be standardized across clinics by payer. In practice, this couldn't be farther from the truth. When payer rules and industry best-practices are unclear, ABA owners end up losing time, sleep, and money on inefficient QA processes. Brellium’s FREE guide to setting up your ABA QA process tackles this issue head-on, including: ✅ Why QA is important ✅ Tips for setting up your note template ✅ Outlining rules for your RBTs and BCBAs ✅ Best practices for setting up your audit requirements ✅ How to use AI to streamline the audit process Download now! ➡️ https://bit.ly/4hDURda #healthcareai #aba #appliedbehavioranalysis #healthcarequalityassurance #brellium
