Since the opening of Bon Secours Wellness Arena 25 years ago, the arena has had a cumulative economic impact of more than $2 billion. BSWA is independently operated and self-supporting with a dedicated administrative team of 32 full-time professionals. An iconic fixture of Greenville's skyline for decades, it remains one of the busiest venues of its size, hosting approximately 130 ticketed events annually alongside 75 to 100 community and non-profit events. “We are extremely proud to contribute to the prosperity of Greenville and the entire Upstate by generating revenue, creating jobs, enhancing the quality of life, and helping position this vibrant destination as a premier hub for live events, concerts, and sports,” said Bon Secours Wellness Arena’s General Manager Beth Paul. “Our goal is to be an arena deeply connected to the community of which we are fortunate to be a part and seeing the economic impact grow so significantly is a testament to this commitment.” Read more from the Conventions Sports & Leisure International Inc. study at the GSA Business Report deep dive below. It’s been a full and fun week for all of us at the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in the classroom at Riverside Middle School with their impressive orchestra program, an arena with 12,000 people and a certain Italian tenor on his very first visit to South Carolina, to a great weekend in the concert hall with soloist Tessa Lark and conductor Wesley Schulz! I’m grateful for the generosity and partnership of Bon Secours Wellness Arena and my friend Beth Paul, for the hard work and vision of music teachers who foster the love of music and make this region the fertile environment it is for the performing arts, and most of all for my outstanding orchestra and staff who have made all this real for us this week through their dedication.
