For the past three years, our Family Advancement and CAP Connect team has proudly volunteered with Assistance League Of Tulsa as a heartfelt thank you for their continued support of our CAP Connect families. Helping with the Operation School Bell program has become a team favorite. This program provides a shopping experience for elementary children in need. One of our awesome teachers, Miss Stephanie, recently captured this photo of these amazing girls in lab coats and goggles in the dramatic play area! 🥼✨ From “mixing potions” to “conducting experiments,” they’re exploring, imagining, and dreaming big. Dramatic play is more than fun, it helps build critical thinking, social skills, and creativity. 🌟 Who knows? Did you know reading to a child for just 15 minutes a day is one of the most important things one can do to prepare a child for kindergarten and future school success?📚 Last month, more than 80 state and local policymakers, business leaders, educators, community partners, foundations, and volunteers joined CAP Tulsa children and staff for our 13th annual Together We Read event! The pumpkin decorating contest at our Skelly school was a hit earlier this week! 🎃 Each pumpkin, inspired by favorite book characters, brought stories to life in creative, colorful ways. Kids and staff joined in the fun, dressing up in costumes, and each child and parent received tickets to vote for their favorite pumpkin when they arrived. They were all so good but there was just one winner. 🥁 Drumroll please 🥁 ... Today, we celebrated our 13th annual "Together We Read" literacy event, joining Jumpstart's #ReadForTheRecord global campaign to raise awareness about the importance of early literacy. We were honored to host over 80 community leaders and volunteers at our 10 schools who came together to inspire a love for reading in our little learners. 📚❤️ At our Disney school, we got to meet 2020 Gold & 2024 Silver Medal Olympic Pole Vaulter, Katie Moon!🎖️ And we were thrilled to see Tulsa Police Department officers and many other familiar faces from our community there as well. 😊💚 Thank you to everyone who made this day so special! #CAPTulsa #ReadForTheRecord2024 #EarlyLearning #EarlyLiteracy #CommunitySupport #Jumpstart
