About us
CAP Tulsa, a community action agency, is focused on interrupting the cycle of poverty. We provide high-quality child care and early education services for young children, as well as a range of supportive services designed to improve the economic status of their parents. CAP Tulsa is one of the largest anti-poverty agencies in Oklahoma. We believe every child and every family deserves equitable opportunities to succeed. This is achieved by empowering low-income families with the education and tools they need to break the cycle of poverty. CAP Tulsa provides the support and guidance with early childhood education and comprehensive enrichment programs for the entire family. CAP Tulsa specifically focuses on a two generation approach that aims not only to prepare young children for future success in school, but also their parents through programs designed to increase parenting skills, employability and earning potential. CAP Tulsa serves nearly 2,000 of Tulsa's low-income children in 10 early childhood centers across the county. CAP employs more than 600 staff members and coordinates the work of many vital volunteers. For the past three years, our Family Advancement and CAP Connect team has proudly volunteered with Assistance League Of Tulsa as a heartfelt thank you for their continued support of our CAP Connect families. Helping with the Operation School Bell program has become a team favorite. This program provides a shopping experience for elementary children in need. Recently, they joined a shopping trip for Kendall Whittier Elementary students, helping 39 children pick out new clothes, including school uniforms and cozy winter coats! 🧥 💚 To learn more about Operation School Bell, click here: https://lnkd.in/gmha-Yx5 #CAPTulsa #HelpingFamilies #Volunteer

Look at our little scientists-to-be in action at our Disney school! One of our awesome teachers, Miss Stephanie, recently captured this photo of these amazing girls in lab coats and goggles in the dramatic play area! 🥼✨ From “mixing potions” to “conducting experiments,” they’re exploring, imagining, and dreaming big. Dramatic play is more than fun, it helps build critical thinking, social skills, and creativity. 🌟 Who knows? These pretend-play moments could spark a future in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)! 🚀 Watch out, world! These preschoolers may be on their way to bright careers in science! 💡 🔬 💚 #CAPTulsa #EarlyLearning #FutureScientists #DramaticPlay #STEM

Did you know reading to a child for just 15 minutes a day is one of the most important things one can do to prepare a child for kindergarten and future school success?📚 Last month, more than 80 state and local policymakers, business leaders, educators, community partners, foundations, and volunteers joined CAP Tulsa children and staff for our 13th annual Together We Read event! We still have an attitude of gratitude for your help raising awareness of the importance of early childhood literacy. Thank you for sharing the joy of reading with our little learners! 💚 #CAPTulsa #ReadForTheRecord2024 #EarlyLearning #EarlyLiteracy #CommunitySupport #ThankYou

The pumpkin decorating contest at our Skelly school was a hit earlier this week! 🎃 Each pumpkin, inspired by favorite book characters, brought stories to life in creative, colorful ways. Kids and staff joined in the fun, dressing up in costumes, and each child and parent received tickets to vote for their favorite pumpkin when they arrived. They were all so good but there was just one winner. 🥁 Drumroll please 🥁 ... And the winning pumpkin is… Bluey!💙 We love seeing our schools celebrate learning in fun ways! #CAPTulsa #Skelly #PumpkinContest #BookCharacters #PreschoolFun
