Life doesn’t always make sense. Who’s to say what is right and what is wrong? We will never fully understand the “whys” in this life. But here is what I do understand. We have the power within us to react to our circumstances. This photo from last month’s event with IKEA brings me immense joy and here’s why: This is my imperfect and incomplete family standing next to a newly designed IKEA dresser that is similar to Ted’s… but it now complies with the new and stronger safety standards required by the STURDY Act. My now ex-husband, Jeremy, is still my dear friend and a light in my life because we survived the trenches together. Our subsequent children, Ted’s siblings, never met him but know him as their big brother. While our irreplaceable Ted is noticeably absent from the photo, he will never be absent from our lives. And this dresser represents the great meaning his life brought to our world. I couldn’t be more proud of our beautiful little boy ❤️ We are all humans on this earth trying to do our best every day with what we have. Last night, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland collapsed. While no civilians were on the bridge when it collapsed, several workers were on the bridge. Article: https://lnkd.in/e8_Ksn7v If civilians were on the bridge when it collapsed, they would've been trapped in their cars in the water below. These incidents are called vehicle submersions. And they are scary and dangerous. Please share this video to help others if they experience a vehicle submersion and may be able to escape their car. Today is the day that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's enforcement discretion for Reese's Law expires. Starting today, virtually all newly manufactured or imported consumer products that use battery or coin cell batteries must meet the rigorous requirements for battery inaccessibility. The products must also comply with the extensive requirements for on-package and on-product labeling. We expect that CPSC will start aggressive enforcement at the ports. Importers should be ready with their General Certificates of Conformity or Children's Product Certificates, and records of their underlying testing. #CPSC #ReesesLaw #batterysafety
