It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas around the W.W. Keeler Tribal Complex! 🎄✨ We held our annual Holiday Open House on Wednesday with special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus! 🎅🏽🤶🏼 Cherokee Nation departments were set up throughout the complex to hand out holiday treats and to inform our citizens about services and programs available. On Tuesday, the Council of the Cherokee Nation hosted their annual Christmas social and treated citizens to a delicious holiday meal! 💗 Wado to everyone who stopped by these two special events this week!

On Friday, Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. visited with this year's incredible Native women entrepreneurs of Cherokee Women’s AcceleratHER Fellowship Fall 2024 Cohort in Tahlequah and presented each participant with a $10,000 seed grant from the Cherokee Nation. 🌟 Through the support of the Cherokee Nation, The University of Tulsa, and the ayana Foundation , this program is breaking barriers and empowering Cherokee women to lead and scale their businesses. The women’s basketball team at Northeastern State University has a pair of Cherokee sisters in its starting lineup! ⛹🏽♀️⛹🏽♀️ Annaston and Aubrey Brown are both Sequoyah High School graduates, and Aubrey works full time for the Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Center while also working on her graduate degree and playing for the basketball team at NSU.
