Children’s Law Center believes every child should grow up with a strong foundation of family, health & education.
About us
Children’s Law Center believes every child should grow up with a strong foundation of family, health and education and live in a world free from poverty, trauma, racism and other forms of oppression. Our more than 100 staff – together with DC children and families, community partners and pro bono attorneys – use the law to solve children’s urgent problems today and improve the systems that will affect their lives tomorrow. Since our founding in 1996, we have reached more than 50,000 children and families directly and multiplied our impact by advocating for city-wide solutions that benefit hundreds of thousands more.

During the 2024 holiday season, hundreds of Wilson Sonsini employees participated in several giving initiatives benefiting those in need. These included a firmwide holiday matching program and numerous adopt-a-family and gift-drive efforts supporting children, families, individuals experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, and seniors. The firm’s holiday matching program raised over $137,000 for local nonprofits fighting food insecurity, including Capital Area Food Bank, Central Texas Food Bank, City Harvest, Community Food Share, Feeding San Diego, Food Bank of Delaware, The Greater Boston Food Bank, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Rainier Valley Food Bank, San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, Utah Food Bank, and World Central Kitchen. Of this total, the Wilson Sonsini Foundation contributed over $70,000, with employees donating nearly $66,500. In addition to supporting local food banks and humanitarian aid, numerous offices held holiday giving drives. The Palo Alto office teamed up with HIP Housing and Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, the Austin office supported Foundation Communities and Meals on Wheels Central Texas, the Boulder office participated in a gift card drive for A Precious Child, and the Brussels office joined the Shoe Boxes program with Resto du Coeur. Meanwhile, the London office collected gifts for KidsOut, the Los Angeles office adopted a family through Hillsides, the New York office partnered with Sanctuary for Families, and the Salt Lake City office purchased gifts for Utah Foster Care Foundation. In addition, the San Diego office supported military families through Operation Help a Hero, the San Francisco office collected donations for Compass Family Services, the Seattle office contributed to programs by Mary's Place and Sound Generations, the Washington, D.C., office supported the Children's Law Center, and the Wilmington office backed youth through the Office of the Child Advocates.

Every child deserves the right supports they need to succeed in school. We're advocating for special education reforms across DC so students like Armani don't need to get a lawyer to get a quality education. Support our mission before 12/31 and double your impact with a matching gift. https://ow.ly/Rv3a50Uvoeb
