Congratulations to Mitchell Hornback, Construction Inspector with Public Services! Mitchell passed his certification exam to become a Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector (CPII) through the American Public Works Association. Mitchell is the first in the City of Lewisville to complete this and joins a group of only 10 in the DFW area. We are proud to have him as part of our team. The CPII certification program is for individuals who inspect the construction of public infrastructure (e.g., roadways, highways, utilities, bridges, dams) and facilities (e.g., pump stations, treatment plants, water storage facilities) and other types of construction work and materials to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Duties may include observation, measurement, testing, and documentation.

Today was monumental for two reasons. 1. Lewisville turned 100 years old. Leaders and staff members from multiple generations came to place a heritage stone at Wayne Ferguson Plaza. It was moving to feel that connected to those that came before us. 2. James Childers, Paul Stevens, and I got a tour of the Fire Training Tower our three cities funded together. It’s almost complete. The team did a great job! Looking forward to improving regional coordination, training our firefighters, and building stronger bonds with our neighboring communities.

Today marks the 100th birthday of the City of Lewisville! We had a wonderful celebration at Wayne Ferguson Plaza, dedicating our heritage stone marker alongside so many incredible people who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of our amazing city. I’m truly grateful to call Lewisville home—the place where we’re raising our boys, growing in faith, building community with our neighbors, and where I get to work and shine a light on this incredible city every day.
