CCASA provides leadership, advocacy, and support to address and prevent sexual violence.
About us
The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) was founded in 1984 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit to be the collective voice of rape crisis advocates across the state of Colorado. Today, our membership includes over 100 sexual assault survivors, victim advocates, rape crisis centers, dual domestic violence and sexual assault programs, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, public health agencies, college and university campuses, medical professionals, offender treatment programs, public officials, as well as other organizations and concerned individuals throughout Colorado. As a statewide coalition, CCASA supports our members, partners, and the broader community through technical assistance, training, information and referrals, educational materials, statewide systems change, and public policy education and advocacy.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), decades of conflict have led to a heartbreaking surge in sexual violence, with over 90,000 assaults reported in 2023. Women in displaced persons camps face daily threats, even while performing essential tasks like fetching water or firewood. The recent withdrawal of U.N. peacekeepers has left a dangerous protection gap, further endangering vulnerable communities. Despite these challenges, grassroots efforts bring hope—organizing safer activities, providing flashlights, and offering job training to help women protect themselves. Survivors and advocates show incredible resilience, striving for safety and dignity for all. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gk4QPvXy

🎉 Celebrating 40 Years of Impact! CCASA is commemorating four decades of groundbreaking achievements and unwavering advocacy in the fight against sexual violence. In this "40 for 40" series, we'll spotlight CCASA's most significant accomplishments and honor the tireless efforts of our dedicated advocates who have been instrumental in shaping our organization's legacy. Today we’re honored to highlight Leanna, a passionate advocate and a survivor, who shared how CCASA has impacted her journey: 🗣️ "I see the life-saving difference advocacy can make for victim-survivors daily in my work. I also know how important advocacy is from my own experience as a survivor." Leanna became certified as a sexual assault and domestic violence advocate through CCASA's training and has participated in many of our trainings and conferences since. She emphasizes the importance of continuously learning to support survivors with trauma-informed, survivor-driven services better. She took these skills with her as she embarked on a volunteer program in Ukraine in February 2024, aiming to help others cope with the effects of trauma. We are so proud of her work and excited to see her make an impact internationally! 🌍 #CCASA40th #40for40 If you, like Leanna, support survivors and support CCASA, please make a donation for Colorado Gives Day at https://lnkd.in/dChXdkiS
