About us
Design Build Fly (DBF) is an international aeronautical design competition hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Every year, over one hundred university teams participate to design, build, and fly a large remote-controlled aircraft to perform three flight missions and one ground mission. At the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), we are an interdisciplinary team of aspiring aerospace engineers tasked with producing an aircraft to represent the school at the competition. We provide hands-on, technical experiences by combining aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering processes into a competitive design project.

Last week we held Design Build Fly's Preliminary Design Review (PDR) where we discussed in front of a public audience of avionics enjoyers, ADC competitors and higher interest spectators what went into designing, building and manufacturing our plane for this year's competiton!
