Transformative Strategies. Unprecedented Impact.

About us

Healthy, thriving nonprofits are needed to drive positive social change in our world. But without strategic support, too many organizations flounder and fall short of the transformative impact they’re capable of. Community Resource Exchange exists to change that. As an organizational development and change management nonprofit, we collaborate with nonprofits to strategize, navigate shifts, develop and empower their leaders, and garner the support they need to maximize impact in their communities. When we champion nonprofits, we co-create a better future for all.

  • What an unforgettable evening! Last Thursday, we gathered to celebrate CRE’s 45th Anniversary—a night brimming with joy, inspiration, and meaningful connections. We honored the incredible legacy of nonprofit leadership and the visionary leaders who have shaped nonprofits in New York and beyond: - Laleh Ispahani, Open Society Foundations, for her work advancing democracy and justice; - Jean Lobell, CRE Leader for 22 years, for her enduring contributions to leadership development and organizational transformation; and - Benjamin F. Lorick, CRE Founding Board Member, for his lifetime of dedication to education, activism, and CRE’s mission. To everyone who attended, supported, or celebrated alongside us—thank you! As honoree, Laleh Ispahani shared: "I believe, you can propel the next generation of lightseekers, whom we so urgently, urgently need. It may be a long road, because we’re in for something now, but it is far from futile. One very famous lightseeker said, ‘The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.’ And on the arc of that universe, I still believe that the United States is still bending toward justice, to becoming a more inclusive, tolerant, and yes, loving place to be. I’m really grateful for the role you all are going to play in this process, CRE—[to] build, fortify, equip, and drive the nonprofit sector… to make sure people are resilient, and have the tools...[to be] adaptable…strategic…and leaderful." • The Council on Foundations, Independent Sector, the National Council of Nonprofits, and United Philanthropy Forum have raised critical concerns about H.R. 9495, a proposed bill that would allow the federal government to label nonprofit organizations as "terrorist-supporting organizations." While safeguarding national security is vital, this legislation, as written, grants the Secretary of Treasury unilateral authority to interpret the mission of any nonprofit organization. This could undermine the essential work nonprofits do to strengthen communities and improve lives. At CRE, we know that nonprofits are the heart of our society’s progress. We stand with the broad coalition of organizations advocating to protect civil society. We urge everyone to take action. Now more than ever, we can’t afford to let nonprofits struggle. To make a real impact on the challenges we face today, we need a strong, successful, and sustainable nonprofit sector. Contact your representatives to share your perspective on the critical need to uphold and strengthen the nonprofit sector. When we champion the nonprofit organizations serving our communities, we champion a better world. https://lnkd.in/gcNTQUkw
