We were honored to welcome Mike Sommers, President and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute (API), to our Permian Basin operations following the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association's (NMOGA) Annual Meeting. Sommers’ visit highlighted Coterra Energy’s dedication to operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and local community partnerships. During his visit, Sommers saw firsthand how we’re driving innovation to reduce methane emissions and create a more sustainable energy future—efforts that are helping New Mexico lead the way in energy production.

With rising demand for energy driven by technology, investing in workforce education is critical. Through partnerships like the Energy Education Foundation and initiatives like the recent Energy Education Exchange, we’re equipping the next generation with skills to power tomorrow. Coterra Announces Accretive Permian Basin Acquisitions   On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Coterra proudly announced two highly accretive Permian acquisitions for a total consideration of $3.95 billion. These acquisitions increase Coterra’s scale, adding 49,000 net acres in New Mexico. Additionally, it will increase the total company oil production to approximately 160,000 BOPD in 2025, a 49% increase relative to 2024 estimates. More information related to the acquisitions is available below.

There’s something magical about the smell of fresh-roasted green chile that instantly takes you home. This August, Coterra Energy had the honor of supporting “The Fix,” the annual chile roast in D.C., bringing a taste of New Mexico to alumni and expats in the area. 🌱 The event, organized by NMSU’s Sam Steel Society, has become a cherished tradition, and this year, we were thrilled to be part of it for the second time. Not only did we get to share in the nostalgia of the roasting season, but we also helped support an incredible cause—raising funds for student scholarships at NMSU.
