Earlier this year, CSG released a comprehensive Public Sector Apprenticeship Toolkit with the help of Ascendium Education Group to help state leaders create and expand public sector apprenticeship programs. Initially a years-long partnership with Apprenticeship Colorado, this toolkit has been adapted from the original Colorado guide to serve as a resource for state, county and city governments across the country to effectively create, implement and maintain Registered Apprenticeship programs to address talent shortages. #PublicSectorWorkforce #NAW2024 #DecadeofNAW #ApprenticeshipUSA U.S. Department of Labor https://lnkd.in/esEXXtyb

#AmericanEducationWeek Everyone's journey in public service is different. Across the country, former educators have been elected to the highest executive offices in their states, maintaining that commitment to serving their communities and future generations. For Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and New Mexico Lt. Gov. Howie Morales, the call to service led them to state government. For them, education is the cornerstone and catalyst of their public service. https://lnkd.in/g7AduiUY

We're proud to celebrate the 10th annual National Apprenticeship Week! For years now, CSG has been a steadfast partner to the states, providing resources to develop, launch and sustain registered apprenticeship programs. In 2021, we partnered with the Urban Institute to launch the nation’s first public-sector apprenticeship consortium, empowering policymakers to utilize apprenticeships as innovative workforce solutions. This week, we're excited to spotlight the impactful work of organizations and states leading the way in advancing these initiatives. #NAW2024 #DecadeofNAW #ApprenticeshipUSA

A South Carolina Department of Education survey, which received nearly 10,000 responses, found that 83% of high school teachers believe cellphones distract students in the classroom, and 92% support a policy to limit cellphone use. According to Pew Research Center, 72% of high school teachers find cellphones to be a major problem in the classroom. States are taking steps to reduce the usage of cellphones and other electronic devices in schools thanks to large bipartisan support and the backing of teachers. However, students and parents have mixed feelings about these bills. Read more about state approaches to the issue, including thoughts from the South Carolina Board of Education and Louisiana Sen.
