"In early September our unit received this letter from a patient family member. 'Hello, I was wondering if you could help me out. My dad was in the ER Tuesday night and then moved to S 8th. He went into cardiac arrest around 2 and passed, but I was wondering if you could find out and tell me who the nurse was for S889 that day/ She was the nurse that came on at 7am, and she was the nurse in the room with me when he went into cardiac arrest, and she started CPR, and we had a bond. She was visibly shaken, and I would love to write her a note.' We found the nurse on duty, Kasey Lowrance. The patient family wrote to her: 'Kasey, we don't know each other, yet we will always be connected by being the last two people my dad was with. I really can't thank you enough for your kindness to him and me, but you hold a very special place in my heart forever! Thank you for all that you did trying to save him! And also, for your compassion to me afterwards. I pray God will bless you as much as you blessed me!'" - Brenda Kinning, Covenant Medical Center Nurse Manager Thank you to CMC RN Kasey Lowrance for caring with compassion and embodying the true spirit of nursing. Your dedication and empathy in such a challenging moment made an unforgettable impact on this family. #EveryMomentMatters

“Our first procedure was performed successfully and with no complications.," said Electrophysiologist Dr. Raj Ganeshan. "The PFA system exceeded expectations, and it's great to know immediately after the procedure is over that our patient is safe, and we won't have to worry about a late complication.” Covenant Health is excited to announce the introduction of Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) for treating atrial fibrillation (A.Fib) at Covenant Medical Center, making us the first in West Texas to offer this groundbreaking technology. A.Fib is a serious heart rhythm disorder that increases the risk of stroke and heart failure. PFA offers a new approach to ablation by eliminating abnormal rhythms without altering tissue temperature, providing potential safety advantages and expanding treatment options for more patients. We encourage those in our community who are impacted by atrial fibrillation to talk with their healthcare providers to determine if they might be candidates for this cutting-edge treatment.
