National Governors Association Focuses on Workforce Skills-Based Hiring Last week in Washington, the National Governors Association held their 2025 Winter Meeting. A key topic of discussion was a recently published report titled, “Empowering Progress: Harnessing Skills-Based Strategies to Drive Public Sector Excellence.” The report focuses on the need for states to adopt skills based hiring practices to better fill public sector jobs. Today more than half of all U.S. states have issued policy directives centered around skills-based hiring, focusing more on the skills of the individual rather than degrees earned. This significant shift has the potential to impact as many as 22 million jobs public sector positions or more than14% of all jobs in the United States. Understanding this shift fuels the solutions we are developing at CTEWorkforce, by helping organizations leverage their workforce's potential through skills-based hiring and retention tools. To learn more about how CTEWorkforce and our solutions are supporting this initiative – visit our site or contact Ed Gooding at ed@cteworkforce.com. You can learn more about the association’s work on encouraging the adoption of skills-based hiring and download a copy of the report here: https://lnkd.in/gV9E47gd. #SkillsBasedHiring #CTEWorkforce
