About us

The Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association in Newtown Square was conveyed and founded by the late Steve Neri, USMC, the late Stan Short, USMC and the Delaware County Historical Society Director Linda Houldin. Designed by Architect George Matuszewski and Glenn Gauzza, the Memorial measures twenty one feet high by fourteen feet deep by eighty two feet in diameter and surrounded by eight flagpoles and nine colonnades. The dedicated site of the Veterans Memorial, at the intersection of West Chester Pike and Alice Grim Boulevard, was donated by Claude de Botton and family. The Memorial is visible to thousands of passers-by each day.
