About us
At Demia, we're on a mission to Secure Data, Remove Friction, Amplify Impact, and Unlock Value. We are transforming carbon markets with secure climate data infrastructure, supported by a vast ecosystem of over 70 leading international organizations in sustainability and climate. The only way to scale carbon markets to create the necessary impact is by streamlining secure and trusted data between market stakeholders with a shared infrastructure model, enabling real-time monitoring, reporting, and verification of emissions mitigation, adaptation, and sequestration. Our open network establishes the new environmental reporting standard by addressing trust, transparency, and accountability issues across carbon markets. We're working to address 4 main customer pain points. 1 - Uncertainty: Project operators struggle with uncertainty around data reporting, proof of impact, and compliance with carbon standards. 2 - Data Collection Burden: Gathering and monitoring data is time-consuming and complex, requiring significant effort and resources. 3 - Financial Inefficiency: Project operators face long delays in receiving financial incentives, hindering the feasibility of their projects. 4 - Lack of Integration: The absence of a unified platform makes it difficult for project operators to connect with auditors, certification bodies, and carbon market standards. Demia provides a comprehensive data logistics solution that solves these pain points by streamlining edge and API-based data gathering, storage, verification, analytics, and reporting. Our infrastructure makes integrating new climate-focused projects into the market as straightforward as possible. Our approach empowers project operators to focus on their mission, creating more impact while enabling auditors access to comprehensive data for rapid reporting and providing carbon market standards with assurance that the credits they issue have integrity and quality as a core requirement.

Earlier this month Demia Founder and CEO Mat Yarger spoke at the IETA Carbon Dialogues in Toronto. He attended the event alongside colleagues Adam Wood, Jonathan Durgala and Nicholas Parker. Here are some of the key takeaways from the event: ➡️ The carbon market is expanding, but its complexity discourages newcomers. Simplification is key. ➡️ Carbon markets should adopt lessons from traditional financial markets, moving toward a more streamlined structure, considering the advancement of carbon as a commodity, and operating at a drastically higher frequency. ➡️ There is increasing fragmentation across different regions. The International Standards Organization (ISO) is a beacon of hope as they progress with the net-zero standard development, but it's still unclear how much impact this will have. ➡️ Technology can enhance trust, but we must consolidate standards and focus on impact-driven financing. And it comes in stages. We can't benefit from innovations like AI at scale until the market gets digital right and has a solid foundation. Let’s build a carbon market that works.
