As another year approaches its sunset, our team would typically reflect on and highlight the people we met, places we went, and experiences we cultivated and how that informs our strategy in 2025; however, more importantly, as human beings, we’d like to take the time to highlight the current and future state of society in lieu of reflection. The world has always been fraught with forces that pressure our professional and personal lives. Today, an aging population never-before-seen lacks the capacity of caregivers and infrastructure to age well and unencumbered the Sandwich Generation. Global and local political shifts are redirecting fund flows and modifying regulatory pathways that have massive implications for digital health innovation. And social class divisions continue to broaden and bridle with anger – evident not only by the assassination of Brian Thompson, UnitedHealthcare’s CEO but also by the widespread apathy of a bi-partisan coalition of everyday people. Life can be complicated, messy, scary, and painful – even more so when people lack trust in a system that’s supposed to support them. As 2025 looms and fear of the unknown continues to boil, I implore us, as changemakers and status-quo challengers, to stake ownership in what we can control – what is within our ability to affect positive change, what we can learn, what can we test, and what can we implement to progress ourselves and our loved ones forward. From a systemic perspective, operating in silos is not only outdated, it's dangerous to our social fabric. The free flow of data and technology will accelerate our learning curves, our testing frequency, and our implementation cycles to transform ourselves and our communities from the bottom up. Taking stock of the forces outside of our control is important, but being derailed by them is non-negotiable. At DHIT, we preach and practice the process of Digital Transformation to ensure we focus on what we can control and impact – that is, arguably the most important facet of the human experience: understanding who you are and what you can do about it. Through data collection strategy and the deployment of advanced technology, we can cultivate the right data sets to support our learning and knowledge growth. We will test, retest, and deploy until we succeed…V1 or V100 As we innovate and unlock our best selves every day, we hope you will remember that energy flows where focus goes, irrespective of the chaos around us – in service of our communities, for now, and until the end. Wishing you all the very best for the holidays and a very happy New Year! - Michael Levy and the DHIT Team
