  • The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA India), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, hosted a significant MoU Signing Ceremony in New Delhi, India. The event, led by Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Chairman of NFRA and DG & CEO of IICA, saw the signing of MoUs with DHR Global and five other leading executive search firms. These partnerships aim to enhance the selection and appointment processes for Independent Directors in Indian boardrooms, advancing corporate governance excellence. Vikram Chhachhi, DHR Managing Partner, highlighted the value of the IICA databank as a resource for companies and boards. The event also launched key governance resources to support board evaluations and corporate governance assessments. The IICA played a pivotal role in facilitating these partnerships through the MoU, with significant contributions from Dr. Niraj Gupta, Head of the School of Corporate Governance & Public Policy, and Mathew John, Chief Program Executive of the Centre for Board Excellence & Leadership.   • Building high-performing teams is crucial for private equity-backed companies to surpass goals and achieve successful exits. When team engagement aligns with company objectives, it drives substantial value. Dwain Celistan, DHR Managing Partner, emphasized the importance of assessing whether senior leaders are meeting their goals and the need for strategic talent upgrades when necessary: “First is the achievement of goals for a senior leader’s area of responsibility. If off target, it merits a deeper dive on their plans to right the ship. Similarly, if there are issues with the team and their engagement, that may suggest this person isn’t optimal to lead that team." He also highlighted the value of aligning talent with company goals, explaining that “alignment reduces wasted time and effort. It creates a larger team approach where output from several teams should reinforce and accelerate the work of their colleagues.
