Australian and New Zealand members of Dispute Resolution Board Foundation Region 3 got together for their final Breakfast Briefing for 2024 this morning.   Today was technical, examining the pros and cons of separating liability and quantum opinions. Ron Finlay examined the High Court decision of CBI v Chevron and best practice when it comes to separating liability and quantum issues in advisory opinions.   The session highlighted the flexibility of dispute boards to work together with parties to design the process that works for them, including early advisory opinions on narrower critical issues.   If you’d like to easily boost your learning for 2025, joining DRBF and our monthly breakfast briefings is a pretty simple pathway.
