Keeping Downtown safe and secure is a team effort, and our Clean & Safe team is working towards it every day. Our safety ambassadors, like Melita, maintain open communication with local police to report ongoing issues that need to be escalated to law enforcement. Our team recently gathered for a meaningful staff volunteer day at the safe sleeping site at O Lot, where we had the privilege of supporting over 250 individuals with a warm meal and a holiday gift, generously sponsored by Cox Communications and SAN DIEGO CITY FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL NO. 145. It was truly heartwarming to witness the difference small acts of kindness can make in bringing comfort and joy to those in need. As part of this year’s Padres Foundation Holiday Giving, presented by Gallagher, members of our Padres front office and volunteer team partnered with the Downtown San Diego Partnership Clean & Safe program to clean areas around Petco Park. Congratulations to our Unhoused Care Team Lead Operations Coordinator, Harry Bass Jr., for being recognized in the Regional Task Force on Homelessness 3rd annual conference: Mindset, Motivation, and Moxie: Rethinking San Diego's Homelessness Story. This recognition reflects the impact of his exemplary leadership and compassionate approach in managing operations at our safe sleeping site at O Lot. Harry’s dedication to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both residents and staff, while ensuring smooth operations, has made a lasting impact on our community. Congratulations, Harry, on this well-deserved honor!

Congratulations to our November Ambassador of the Month, Richard! Since day one, Richard has stood out with his hard work, positive attitude, and dedication. Starting as a Gaslamp Ambassador, he quickly proved himself and earned a well-deserved promotion to Rapid Response Ambassador. In his new role, Richard continues to excel, always showing up with enthusiasm and a confident smile. He's not just a top-notch performer—he's also a great team player, building strong relationships and inspiring those around him. During the month of November, Richard cleaned 116 sidewalks, serviced 125 trash cans, and removed 25 pieces of graffiti and stickers. Thank you, Richard. We are lucky to have you on the team! 👏

She also went the extra mile by providing contacts for City of San Diego-managed services. Recently, the Family Reunification Program was able to help an entire family travel across the country to be reconnected with their mother. Since arriving, the family's children have started attending school, the mother has already found employment as a housekeeper, and the father is in the process of training to become a cab driver. The family is happy to be living with their mother while saving up some money and were grateful to the Family Reunification Program for their assistance.
