Catalyzing Peace in Development

About us

DT Institute is first and foremost a peace and development organization. Everything we do—from funding and executing programs to generating knowledge and insights—is driven by our commitment to improving the human condition. It is in our DNA to be bold: we relentlessly create, iterate, and measure our ability to drive innovation; we strengthen communities, develop the next generation of leaders, and positively impact the lives of those we serve. We are a part of the DT Global Family, a network including a for-profit company, non-profit organization, and a charitable trust, all united behind one mission: to leverage our resources to achieve greater impact and improve as many lives as possible. We are pioneering a new way of doing business – starting with a unique structure where GPD Charitable Trust is the principal owner of a for-profit consulting entity, DT Global. DT Global then channels the majority of fees received from contracts back into its sister non-profit, DT Institute, to support initiatives that test new ideas or expand on donor partner priorities. Together, the DT Global family has the unique ability to augment existing donor-funded programs through matching grants and provide modern solutions to program financing.

🌍 Advancing Human Rights and Justice in #Yemen DT Institute, in partnership with the #Justice4Yemen Pact coalition, recently concluded a series of high-level stakeholder meetings in #Geneva to address Yemen's pressing human rights challenges. These discussions focused on combating impunity, preserving civic space, and advocating for a victims-centered approach to transitional justice. Key outcomes included: ✅ Strengthening protection for human rights defenders and journalists, addressing visa barriers, and enhancing safeguards. ✅ Promoting independent investigations to ensure accountability for human rights violations. ✅ Empowering local monitoring networks to fill gaps left by international access restrictions. ✅ Mobilizing regional actors, particularly Oman, to champion accountability and transitional justice efforts. ✅ Urging the Human Rights Council to adopt a holistic strategy to tackle Yemen’s complex crisis. Through these engagements, DT Institute and #Justice4Yemen Pact coalition reaffirmed their commitment to advancing #humanrights, accountability, and #justice for Yemeni victims. 📢 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eGMhYevA #HumanRights #JusticeForYemen #Accountability #TransitionalJustice #DTInstitute

For two days, #Justice4Yemen Pact Coalition actively participated in the First World Congress on Enforced Disappearances in Geneva. Their participation effectively brought attention to the grave issue of enforced disappearances in Yemeni society, emphasizing the profound impact on families and communities. The coalition also highlighted the specific consequences of child disappearances and their detrimental effect on peace processes and agreements. #Justice4Yemen deeply regrets that some of its members were unable to attend the congress due to challenges faced by Yemeni participants, particularly those related to stringent travel requirements and visa constraints. We hope to facilitate greater access for Yemenis to international human rights platforms in the future. #Justice4Yemen #EnforcedDisappearances #HumanRights #YemenCrisis #TravelFreedoml #EnforcedDisappearances #WCED

  • In his own words: "Peace is more than the absence of war. There is an inner peace that comes from personal security and personal freedom. Peace also includes the sense of a mother and father that their children will live, that they’ll have food for them to eat, and that they won’t be subject to a lifetime of suffering that could have been prevented." -Carter Center News, Spring 2003
