EW Howell Construction Group completed construction of I.S. 322K in Brooklyn, New York. Spanning 5 stories and 77,900 square feet, this new school is located on 86th Street and 7th Avenue in the neighborhood of Bay Ridge. The school includes 21 classrooms, a gymatorium with locker rooms, art and music rooms, a science lab, a library, a cafeteria with kitchen, and administration spaces. 475 seats have been created; of these, 72 are designated within the D75 program, providing highly specialized instruction for students with significant challenges. #ThrowbackThursday In 2004, EW Howell Construction Group completed construction of the Leon Levy Visitor Center for the New York Botanical Garden. Acting as a grand entrance to the Botanical Garden, the Visitor Center features an entry loggia, a café, retail space, and restrooms. This 20,700-square-foot project saw the construction of three one-story buildings and renovation of a bathroom building. The Leon Levy Visitor Center received numerous accolades, including the 2004 Build New York Award in recognition of excellence in construction and teamwork. #ProjectUpdate As General Contractor, EW Howell Construction Group is excited to share recent progress on the P.S. 206K project in Brooklyn, NY! Earlier this month, we began installing foundations footings and strap beams. Additionally, we achieved a major milestone with the installation of our Con Edison vault. In the coming weeks, we will continue progressing with foundations work and start installation of our sub-slab depressurization system piping. This project consists of the construction of a 5-story, 60,000-square-foot addition to the existing Joseph F. Lamb School in Sheepshead Bay. The new structural steel framed building addition includes a terracotta rainscreen system for its façade, a fully electric heating system, and an environmentally friendly green roof. The first floor of the building will feature a cafeteria and kitchen; the second to fifth floors are reserved for classrooms, art rooms, music rooms, and additional student space. EW Howell Construction Group has successfully completed construction of the new Public Storage facility in Long Island City, New York. Situated at the corner of Northern Boulevard and 39th Avenue, this 12-story structural steel-framed building encompasses 170,000 square feet. This climate-controlled facility features an office/retail area, display space, and over 1,000 storage units. Our work on this project included extensive site surveying and pile testing, which were essential for constructing the new vertical building located between two existing Public Storage facilities. Logistics planning also involved coordinating a 30,000-gallon cast-in-place water storage tank. The Public Storage facility in Long Island City celebrated its grand opening in September 2024.
