#ThrowbackThursday In December 2008, EW Howell Construction Group completed a rooftop redevelopment of The Peninsula New York hotel. This involved a 20,000-square-foot renovation of the top three floors of the hotel spa and restaurant facilities. The top level of the hotel included an extension of the bulkhead for new toilet facilities for the Salon de Ning rooftop bar, which infuses Chinese and international design elements. The dramatic rooftop terraces offer stunning views over Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. As General Contractor, EW Howell takes immense pride in this hospitality project and its significant role in our diverse portfolio. 🍪 In the spirit of the holidays, EW Howell Construction Group recently held its first-ever Christmas Cookie Challenge at our Plainview office! Many of our team members participated, putting their baking mettle to the test by preparing a variety of holiday cookies. Congratulations to our winner, Lori Panessa, CPA, who submitted Linzer Tarts and our runner up, Molly Morrissey, P.E., who submitted peanut butter cookies! This past Thursday, EW Howell Construction Group held its annual Holiday Celebration, a full company gathering of various team members across our offices and projects to celebrate the holiday season, enjoying an array of food and drinks and a trivia contest that challenged company and holiday knowledge. Daniel Williams, President of EW Howell, shared his sentiments regarding regrouping, tightening controls, strengthening policies & procedures, and improving collaboration throughout the company as we strive for excellence and continued growth. In addition, our annual Build Simply Award winner was announced and presented to Charles Robert Wolf, Quality Director. #ProjectUpdate We are thrilled to share our ongoing progress on the Patient Care Pavilion at Good Samaritan University Hospital! Most of the site curbing and asphalt binder course have been installed, with only the main entrance of the hospital remaining. The erection of the lobby curtain has been completed, and painting is ongoing in rooms throughout the building. On all floors, the installation of lighting fixtures and low-voltage systems is ongoing. These are just a few of the many tasks being carried out on this extensive healthcare project. The Good Samaritan University Hospital Patient Care Pavilion aims to enhance the patient experience, including such features as a state-of-the-art 75-bay emergency department, a modernized surgical suite with 16 replacement operating rooms, and a private medical surgical unit.
