Experts say you should never stop learning, and our staff feels the same. ELR Charleston staff joined J. Scott Mathie, a Redi-Rock International representative, for a lunch learning experience on Tuesday. "Meeting with manufacturers and learning about different products is so important in this industry. It grants us knowledge to understand the product which in turn allows us as landscape architects and engineers at ELR to design our projects more effectively," said ELR Landscape Designer Emily Bryant. This product — used for building walls — marries decorative elements and sturdy building materials. Emily said she learned about "some interesting cases where they utilized Redi Rock in various industries like water, transportation, and different developments" spanning the service lines we provide at ELR. Thanks to everyone who participated!

We are proud to announce that our colleague Justin Beverage passed his Geologist-in-Training (GIT) test! Justin graduated from Concord University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geoscience emphasizing physical geology, and he has been with the E.L. Robinson Geotechnical Department in Beckley, West Virginia since August of 2023. He shared, “My favorite part of the job is being able to implement my geological training across real world applications. I enjoy the mix of hands-on field work and research. West Virginia has a complex geological history, and working at E.L. Robinson has given me the tools to work on projects and solve problems associated with earth’s processes. At ELR, I like the overall work environment, which has been supportive and constructive to my professional development. In the short time I have worked here, E.L. Robinson has given me opportunities and allowed me to grow. I’m proud to be part of the team.” We look forward to working with and supporting Justin as he continues gaining the experience required to take the Practice of Geology exam and receive his Professional Geologist licensure. Keep up the great work Justin! #Geology #GeologistInTraining #CompanyCulture
