  • Although Carter only served one presidential term, the impact he had on the American public is unmeasurable. He led with an initiative to make government compassionate and competent, always striving to meet expectations and increase efficiency. In February of 2023, after his health care team determined that hospice was an option, President Carter and his family made the decision to begin hospice care. He passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, after nearly two years in hospice care. When Americans reach a point in their health care journey where end-of-life discussions are needed, they often don’t know what options are available to them. Enhabit is here to help you find the best care for your patients. Contact us today to learn more about our hospice services. https://bit.ly/3K7MxTK

  • Today, we honor Yvonne, an inspiring young patient whose goal is to achieve the dream of staying at home with her family. Yvonne's rehabilitation exemplifies the power of teamwork and the transformative impact of compassionate care provided by our dedicated clinicians. Under the guidance of occupational therapist Becky C., OT, Yvonne has engaged in tailored therapy sessions aimed at enhancing her mobility, strengthening her muscles and improving pulmonary function. These focused strategies have enabled Yvonne to enjoy longer periods off mechanical ventilation, allowing her to achieve her care goals. Simultaneously, MacKenzie D., RN, plays a vital role in Yvonne’s recovery through meticulous nursing assessments and personalized care plans. By ensuring a comprehensive and adaptable medical approach, MacKenzie helps keep Yvonne out of the hospital and on her path to recovery. We’re grateful to our dedicated team for their commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. It is through their expertise and collaboration that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their loved ones.

  • Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Congresswoman-elect Julie Johnson to our home office. She will represent Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, where our home office is located, in the 119th Congress. During her visit, our executive team discussed several critical issues affecting the care-at-home industry, including Medicare home health and hospice benefits, the impact of Medicare cuts on providers and patients and challenges posed by regulatory and insurance barriers. We also highlighted Enhabit’s commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible care. We appreciate Congresswoman-elect Julie Johnson for her valuable insights and support as we work together to address these important issues!

  • When a family member passes away, their loved ones may experience a change in tradition and a sense of emptiness as the first holiday season without them approaches. At Enhabit, we understand that healing from loss and regaining balance in life takes time, especially during a difficult holiday season. That’s why we offer bereavement services to loved ones for a minimum of 13 months after a patient’s passing.
