On Wednesday, EKPF participated in the Conference d.Holiday 2024 in Athens, organized by Diaverum. The event provided an excellent platform to discuss patient travel and the unique challenges faced by kidney patients when planning trips. We had the opportunity to listen to inspiring patient stories from Jan Świątczak and Antonis Chatzisavvas, who shared their personal experiences navigating travel while on dialysis and the solutions they suggest. After the conference, we visited the Diaverum Medifil Peristeri dialysis clinic. Great connections and learning! Always great to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones! It was a fantastic day of learning, sharing, and building new partnerships for the future of kidney patient care.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects 1 in 10 people worldwide, and yet, despite its increasing impact, remains underrecognized. Advocating for transformative health policies for CKD, such as screening in high-risk populations, is more important than ever. Don’t miss out on an expert discussion on 25 September, which will address the growing burden of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases, including CKD, and the importance of driving global recognition around the interconnected nature of these conditions. The Devex event will be delivered in partnership with the Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health International Society of Nephrology, and sponsored by AstraZeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim Register to attend in-person in New York City or online to be a part of making the change #ForKidneyHealth: https://lnkd.in/gKtf5_yH #DevexEvent #UNGA79
