Great news from the #EyesHeartsHands👁❤️🖐 consortium! Today we are celebrating the Maia City Council, which has won the prestigious Portugal Smart Cities - António Almeida Henriques Award in the ‘Sustainable and Intelligent Urban Renovation’ category for the Sobreiro - Positive and Inclusive Energy Neighbourhood. The award was presented to Maia’s Mayor, Antonio Silva Tiago, during the Portugal Smart Cities Summit in October, held in Lisbon, which is the leading Smart Cities event in Portugal. On December 13, the first workshop of the Community of Cities initiative within #EyesHeartsHands👁❤️🖐 project took place online, bringing together city representatives from across Europe. The Community of Cities will connect over 50 representatives to collaboratively implement the New European Bauhaus (NEB) core values—sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty. Over the course of four online workshops, participants will have the opportunity to foster collaboration, exchange knowledge, and explore innovative solutions to pressing urban challenges through the NEB framework. The EU-funded eNeuron project, which has been driving the development of resilient and sustainable energy communities across Europe, will mark the conclusion of its four-year journey with a final event! Last week, I had the pleasure of attending two incredible events: ✨ 12th Energy Forum - A fantastic opportunity to delve into the latest trends and innovations in the energy sector, organised by Água e Ambiente (https://lnkd.in/d_ArCbPn). ✨ NEB Cluster Meeting at Hub Criativo do Beato in Lisbon, organized by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency. Together with the brilliant Marina Focarile, I had the opportunity of presenting AdEPorto - Agência de Energia do Porto work on the NEB Lighthouse of Maia Sobreiro neighbourhood, developed as part of the Eyes Hearts Hands 👁❤️🖐 project. It was an inspiring gathering focused on the New European Bauhaus initiative, fostering creativity and sustainability (Espaço Municipal - Renovação Urbana e Gestão do Património, E.M., S.A., SPI - Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, EDP NEW, CÂMARA MUNICIPAL DA MAIA) Both events were filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and a wealth of knowledge.
