Financial support for families facing cancer
About us
Treatment requires more than medicine — families need a roof over their heads and food on their tables to survive. If a family can’t meet these basic needs, cancer treatment takes a back seat. Family Reach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works with patients, providers, and community organizations to challenge the systems that force families to choose between their health and their home. Together, we’re making financial treatment a standard of cancer care.

"Growing up with cancer, and now being a young adult with cancer, I'm hyper-aware of how expensive it is to simply exist," shared 21-year-old Camille. "I'm supposed to pay $30 or more for parking at the hospital every time….when I can't even hold a job due to long-term side effects." More than half of young adults with cancer face financial insecurity. Many of these patients are in the early stages of their careers and have little savings, leaving them especially vulnerable to the financial devastation caused by their diagnosis. Financial support is now available to help young adults like Camille afford food, housing, and transportation during treatment so they can focus on what matters most: their health. We're proud to partner with the American Cancer Society on this new fund! Together, we're helping young adults in treatment keep a roof over their heads and food on their tables. 💚 Share this post with your network to connect more young people to life-saving financial support.
Very grateful for the work between Family Reach and American Cancer Society to provide this fund to support young adults with cancer in the US. Thank you to the hard work of Maggie Rogers, MPH and Julie Willis at ACS to create and champion this opportunity nationwide. A cancer diagnosis can be particularly difficult for young adults (ages 18-29). The American Cancer Society (ACS) is partnering with Family Reach to connect young people with 24/7 personalized resources to help them overcome challenges throughout their cancer journey including food, housing, and managing the costs of a cancer diagnosis. If you know a young adult with cancer, encourage them to apply for assistance through the ACS/Family Reach Young Adult Fund at Financial Assistance - Family Reach. To access information and promote the fund you can share this link Financial Assistance - Family Reach with partners which includes eligibility guidelines. https://lnkd.in/gAcTgwM5

Family Reach was beyond proud to present the Steve Collis Intellectual Confidence Award established by Cencora to Christi Shaw and Shelley Shaw at last week's Imagine Session! 👏 Christi and Shelley have exemplified what it means to prioritize people in cancer treatment, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to finding new ways — both medical and non-medical — to improve cancer survival rates, especially for those enrolled in clinical trials. 👏 Please join us in extending congratulations to these two incredible changemakers!

🍽️ #FoodInsecurity should not be a side effect of cancer — but it is. We can't live with that. If you can't either, let's change this reality together ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eAy8if_C
