Meet Kyle Hall and Tim Russell, two of the four owners and junior partners of Custom Glass Services, Inc. (CGS), proudly serving the community on Byte Drive since 2000. Originally founded in 1994, CGS specializes in metal panel wall systems and skinning systems, delivering fabrication and on-site installation. The company has a rich history, with its current president starting as a setting glass helper—highlighting the room for growth within the workforce. CGS’s sister company, ProTech, was founded in 2004 and focuses on ballistic glass and bomb-proof paneling. CGS’s latest projects include a data center at the former Alcoa Eastalco Works plant and a surgical site near Thomas Johnson Drive. With 46 employees across shop, field, and office roles, the company continues to thrive and grow. The City of Frederick: Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that it will receive over $1.7 Million in grant awards provided by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) for fiscal year 2025. These grant awards will have a significant impact on the city. Three of the awards will help the continuation of successful facade improvement programs, fire suppression and mission interior programs across the City of Frederick's Historic Downtown, East Frederick, and "Golden Mile" commercial corridor. The city received a $1 Million award from the program's Strategic Demolition Fund to support architectural and engineering designs for the development of the Downtown Frederick Hotel and Conference Center. Additionally, grant awards will help support the restoration of the exterior of historic, African American community building and the creation of a new food hall in Downtown Frederick. The City of Frederick: Department of Economic Development was on hand for the inaugural Golden Mile International Festival and Market at Warehouse Cinemas this past weekend! Attendees were able to experience the diverse culture that calls the city's west end "home."
