What an honor!!! geCKo Materials won Disruptive Startup of the Year! 🎉🎉 What a fun-filled week we had at Startup Grind Global conference! geCKo Materials was invited and selected to participate in three full packed days of all things startup! Entrepreneurs gathered around roundtables at Draper University and downtown Redwood City, amazing talks were given (Garry Tan, Howie Liu , and many many more)!! My pitch was between the CEO of Airtable talk and Tim Draper (another honor). We had a fun booth on the last day in which we met and demoed hundreds of folks (the conference had over 3000+ in attendance)!! Our CEO, Capella Kerst, Ph.D. had over 10 investor meetings throughout the week festivities! Denis Fastert, MBA, COO, did an amazing job at the booth and networking throughout the event! TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 was amazing! It was a huge honor to take second place home!! 🎉🦎 geCKo Materials was named runner up TechCrunch Disrupt Startup of the Year! Just to make the Top 5 finalist was amazing and the competition was very fierce. I am so thankful for the geCKo Materials' team, Capella Kerst, Ph.D., our CEO who crushed it on the main disrupt stage, Denis who ran the booth, Gabriela Badica who ran comms, plus all the family, friends, and new friends we made at the conference. TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 🏆 was such a fun experience. I am so thankful for Isabelle Johannessen and Michael J Schick and the TC team for making this a TC Disrupt to remember. "It all started earlier this year when the TechCrunch editorial team selected 200 companies from thousands that applied. From there, the team then chose the 20 finalists who pitched this week onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 to investor judges and packed crowds." Out of thousands of applicants, 200 startups were chosen for the Startup Battlefield 200 cohort. Top 20 was announced at the start of the conference Monday. As a Top 20 we took the Disrupt Stage as finalists Monday and Tuesday, battling it out for a spot in the Top 5 who would battle it out again for the Disrupt Cup and $100,000 prize. Tuesday evening, the top 5 finalists were announced. We were one of the 5 finalists along with some of our friends: geCKo Materials, @lunalifeltd MabLab Salva Health and Stitch3D. We pitched one more time on the main stage at Disrupt for the Battlefield Finals Wednesday late morning! The results are in: 🥇Salva Health Valentina Agudelo Vargas, 🥈geCKo Materials Capella Kerst, Ph.D. We won runner up!! 🦎🦎🎉🎉 Congratulations to all my fellow finalists and Battlefield participants!
