The Human Rights Day underpins the importance of #Dignity, #Equality and #Freedom for everyone globally and in Africa and this is why we strive to promote and protect human rights for all, including women's rights, through our cooperation with the African Human Rights System. We specifically aim at paving way for a just, dignified and equal Africa. Last week, we hosted a critical workshop to develop the Health Information Exchange (HIE) Investment Case in collaboration with Africa CDC, a key step toward transforming health data exchange across AU Member States. The workshop focused on crafting a comprehensive plan to mobilize political support, secure funding and align HIE implementation with national and regional health priorities. Building on the Africa CDC's HIE Maturity Assessment Tool, the case will cover vital areas like governance, ICT infrastructure, workforce and interoperability. Health economists, policy experts and practitioners from across the continent have collaboratively developed the outline for the framework to guide the creation of the HIE Investment Case. Young African women are no longer just the leaders of the future; they are the leaders of today! It was an absolute pleasure to support THE AMAZON LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (TheALI) during the 2024 Annual Leadership Forum for Young Female Leaders. 🟠 #16DaysOfActivism against Gender-Based Violence 🟠 Today, we spotlight the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) for their work with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. “In transitional justice processes, addressing the needs of survivors of sexual and gender-based violence goes beyond accountability—it demands holistic care. At CSVR, we have seen the transformative impact of integrating mental health and psychosocial support in a holistic care framework, as informed by our work in South Sudan, Sudan, and South Africa. By focusing on safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment, we contribute to survivors' healing and resilience and sustainable peace and justice for communities."
