As the new year begins, many people choose a word to guide and inspire them throughout the year. At GWC, we’ve taken this idea a step further by selecting words that reflect how we want our organizational culture to grow and be defined in 2025. Each member of our team contributed to this word cloud that represents our collective vision for the year ahead. Words like generous, integrity, and compassion reflect the values we’re committed to living out as we tackle the global water crisis. These words aren’t just aspirations; they’re guideposts for how we’ll engage with each other, our partners, and the communities we serve. What word will guide you in 2025? We’d love to hear your reflections in the comments! #NewYear #GlobalWaterCenter #Leadership #OrganizationalCulture #TeamVision

Steve Vanderboom’s journey to Global Water Center began when he first met George and Molly Greene in the 80s. After losing touch for several years, Steve reconnected with George and Molly through their work with Water Mission. Later, he went to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria to witness their efforts firsthand. While inspired by their life-changing impact, Steve was shocked to hear that George and Molly wanted to do more to end the global water crisis. With 800 million people in rural areas still without access to safe drinking water, they knew more needed to be done. That realization sparked the creation of Global Water Center, an ambitious effort to promote global collaboration, provide standards-based training, and drive lasting change. Moved by their vision, Steve joined GWC’s board and recently, along with his wife Julie, made a substantial donation, committing to meet 10% of the $18 million fundraising goal. We are grateful for Steve and Julie’s commitment, dedication, and generosity. #GlobalWaterCrisis #GlobalWaterCenter #Gratitude #Thanks #Nonprofit #Board
