About us

Founder of Go Long – Making life after 40 unapologetically awesome. Thriving with three autoimmune diseases. No gimmicks. No BS. Just straight talk. Featured in WSJ. Fitness for the sandwich generation (~40-60 yo) doesn't need to be dysfunctional! Let's get your burnout under control so you can live your best life! Raise your hand if you wake up some mornings with an injury and you have no idea what happened? Welcome to life after 40. For too long you’ve probably been on the hamster wheel of life. I know because I have, too. Health and fitness haven't always been my priority — until they literally needed to be for me to get out of bed. Find the program that works for you! If you’re like most people who aren’t on the cover of Muscle and Fitness, chances are you’ve never had a workout, nutrition or mindset practice that aligns with and fits into your unique lifestyle. One that evolves and changes as you evolve and change (radical, I know). This isn’t about getting shredded. If you want to: - Get more confident - Travel easily and often, especially when you retire - Be able to do what you want to do (and when) - Play with your children or grandchildren - Bend over to pick something up without your back going out - Spend time with friends without being limited physically - Take care of yourself for decades to come… You need a program designed specifically for you and your lifestyle. A program that puts you at the center of what you want to be doing. • 🎯 Strength Training Simplified: Just had an enlightening conversation with Bianca Carbone, founder of Blix Fitness, about how to make strength training more accessible regardless of where you are at in your journey. From navigating hormonal challenges to building sustainable fitness habits, we broke down the barriers that often hold people back. Key takeaways: - Progressive overload isn't about massive jumps - even small increases matter - The power of tempo in exercises (yes, that can of beans can feel heavy!) - Why lifting near failure with good form beats chasing one-rep maxes - Smart strategies for training during hormonal fluctuations - How to spot a quality coach vs. a social media influencer My favorite quote from Bianca: "Control the controllables and everything else, you have to let it go." • Attention Autoimmune Warriors and Women 40+! 🌙✨ 🔮 The Myth: “I’m too busy to wind down before bed.” Let’s shatter this dangerous illusion. The story you’re telling yourself—that you don’t have time to prepare for restful sleep—is pure fiction. 💥 The Reality Check: What you’re REALLY saying is: “I don’t have time to protect my health, manage my autoimmune condition, and show up as my best self.” 🚫 The Consequences of Believing This Myth: • Increased inflammation • Compromised immune function • Chronic fatigue • Heightened stress responses • Potential autoimmune flare-ups ✨ The Truth: Even 15 minutes of INTENTIONAL wind-down time can change everything. It’s not about finding time—it’s about making time for what matters: your health, your energy, and your ability to show up fully in life. What’s your biggest challenge with winding down at night? Let me know in the comments!

Living with Autoimmune Disease? Let's Talk! 🎯 Does this sound familiar? 🔵 You're told "but you look fine!" while battling invisible symptoms 🔵 You've collected more than one autoimmune diagnosis like unwanted souvenirs 🔵 You're juggling life, career, and a body that seems to have its own agenda 🔵 The phrase "it's all in your head" makes you want to scream 😤 I get it. I went from crushing it on Wall Street to barely being able to get out of bed. Three autoimmune diseases and countless "helpful" suggestions later, I've learned a thing or two about navigating this chaos over a couple of decades... and then some. Now I'm on a mission to hear YOUR story. Whether you're: ✔️ Recently diagnosed or a seasoned warrior ✔️ Dealing with one condition or collecting them like I have ✔️ Over 40 or not (though us #womenover40 seem to hit the autoimmune jackpot more often, which is superfun with #menopause symptoms) Drop a comment below 👇 or DM me. Let's make these invisible battles visible. #AutoimmuneWarrior #InvisibleIllness #ChronicIllness #AutoimmuneDisease #WomensHealth

  • From one bionic hip to two! 🦿 Yesterday marked another milestone in my medical journey as I underwent my second hip replacement surgery - this time on the right side. The decision to become #BilaterallyBionic wasn't an easy one, but it's been driven by my commitment to staying active and living life to the fullest. In my latest video, I share my unique perspective as someone who's now experienced this transformative surgery twice - from the initial decision-making process to what I've learned along the way. For anyone curious about hip replacement surgery, considering it themselves, or supporting someone through this journey, I've documented my experience and expectations for recovery. Check out the video below to hear my story and follow along as I navigate this new chapter. #HipReplacement #PatientStory #HealthcareJourney #MedicalInnovation #Recovery #WellnessJourney Would love to hear from others who've gone through similar experiences or have questions about the process! 💪 https://lnkd.in/gf3waZz5

Today’s the day—I’m getting my right hip replaced! After having my left hip done in early ‘21, I’m cautiously optimistic but ready to put in the work. The goal? To get back to doing all the things: hiking, traveling, lifting, and living pain-free. 💪 I’ll be sharing my rehab journey—including strengthening tips for hips, glutes, back, and core—on Instagram and YouTube, so follow along! If you’re local and up for a walk around Green Lake (since I can’t drive for six weeks), let me know! 🚶♂️ Thanks for being part of this journey and supporting Go Long. Let’s do this! LFG! ____ #community #wellness #golong #healthconcierge #wellnessmatchmaker #seattlewa #washington #mythmonday #burnout #justgolong #microaccountability
