This Thanksgiving season, we're thankful for our members and the commitment they've made to taking care of their health 💜💪 It's not easy to prioritize your health needs amidst the stresses and pressures in life. But, prioritizing your health gives you more life in your days and the opportunity to be present for the people and moments that matter. To our members, thank you for committing to yourself and for trusting us with your care. We're so thankful. If you're looking for ways to continue to prioritize your health this holiday season - try one of these tips from our Coaches: 1️⃣ Breathe Through Stress: Feeling overwhelmed? Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique—inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds. This simple exercise can calm your mind and lower stress in just a few moments. 2️⃣ Take a Digestive Walk: After your Thanksgiving feast, take a 15-20 minute walk. It aids digestion, balances blood sugar, and provides a peaceful moment to reflect on the day. 3️⃣ Mindful Moments: Pause to check in with your emotions. Whether you journal a gratitude list or simply sit quietly, a few mindful moments can boost mental clarity and happiness.

November is National Diabetes Month: Let’s Talk About Diabetes in the Workplace Diabetes isn’t just a personal challenge—it’s a workforce challenge too. The average yearly healthcare cost for an employee with diabetes is $20,000—6x higher than for someone without diabetes—and rising 20% year-over-year. Comorbid conditions like obesity, MSK pain, and depression often co-occur with diabetes, making health management more complex for individuals. Managing diabetes requires more than medical interventions. Sustainable lifestyle and behavioral modifications are critical to successful, long-term health outcomes. A diabetes management program should focus on interventions that address goal-setting, habit-tracking, self-efficacy and the reinforcement of healthy behaviors. Learn more about the impact of diabetes on the workplace, and strategies for HR managers to consider, in our guest post with bswift!

It's a big month for team Goodpath! Join us in a warm welcome for our new team members, Heather Galbraith, MPH, Ashley Stanek, and Angela Lindemann, MSc! Heather joins us as our Head of Customer Success. She brings over a decade of experience in working with clients to transform healthcare and improve patient outcomes. Heather is a mother of three, coaches her daughter’s field hockey team, helps takes care of her family’s small farm, and loves planning trips for the family. Ashley joins us as a Health Coach committed to empowering individuals on their journey to optimal health and well-being. She holds a Master’s degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition from Saybrook University and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a focus on Human Performance from the University of Tampa. When she’s not coaching, Ashley loves to spend time outdoors, staying active and embracing nature. She enjoys teaching and participating in yoga classes, as well as embarking on adventures with her pup. Angela joins us as a Health Coach. She holds her undergraduate degree in Pre-Physical Therapy and a Master’s degree in Integrative Performance, which is a blend of sport psychology and exercise science, with a sprinkle of counseling and public health. In addition to working as a Health Coach, she teaches online courses for the University of Wisconsin in the Biomedical Sciences program. She enjoys hiking with my dog, travel, adventure experiences (a via ferrata is next!), art museums, and catching up with family and friends.
