Grand Universe Science & Space Experience Campus
About us
Grand Universe is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to informal science education and public engagement programs in NASA missions, astronomy and space exploration. Grand Universe is an innovative and immersive STEM Learning Campus dedicated to fostering curiosity, exploration, and education in the fields of science and space exploration. The 78-acre campus will be a hub of discovery, offering state-of-the-art facilities and programs designed to inspire learners of all ages. The historic Link Observatory, located on a hilltop 4 ½ miles south of Mooresville, exists to foster scientific discovery, stimulate an interest in space exploration and cultivate the next generation of science, technology and academic leaders. Completed in 1939, the observatory was built for the private use of Dr. Goethe Link, a noted Indianapolis surgeon. From the 1950s through the mid-1980s it was used by Indiana University for important astronomical research. Now, however, this magnificent astronomical observatory is dedicated to providing informal, yet expertly designed, science education to schools and the general public throughout central Indiana. Its mission is to inspire students to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and encourage students in all disciplines to explore and achieve their greatest potential. Our mission is to stimulate an interest in astronomy and space exploration, foster scientific curiosity, and advance science literacy to cultivate and nurture the next generation of science, technology and academic leaders. Join us as we share the wonders of the universe.

Chairman Jeff Hagerman is "over the moon" with excitement to be part of the team bringing Grand Universe to the City of Westfield, Indiana! Through this incredible educational space, Jeff's love of space will create future generations of space explorers 🚀 🌌 👩🚀 Check out the information below from the design team led by Browning Day to catch a glimpse of what's to come for this unique space! #BuildingABetterFuture #AConstructionSolutionsProvider
Browning Day is excited to have the opportunity to partner with Grand Universe and Grand Universe Development Partners, LLC to bring the Grand Universe Development to life. The vision of a world-leading STEM campus focused on humanity's future in Space, and here on this planet, is a bold concept and the City of Westfield, Indiana is the perfect place to host that vision. The keystone of that vision is Johnson-Hagerman Center for Science and Space Exploration, which will house the world's largest domed planetarium, solar and celestial observatories, science and technology exhibits, feature educational partnerships with institutions around the state, and innovative outdoor education spaces. Surrounding the Johnson-Hagerman Center campus are a resort and conference center, sports and entertainment district, and a robust town center community with housing, retail, and entertainment facilities. All of this builds on the excellent facilities of Westfield in Grand Park, the Monon Trail, and the fastest growing community in the state of Indiana.
