2D-BioPAD and #MUNASET hosted a joint workshop on the 17th of October 2024, during #GrapheneWeek2024, aimed at fostering collaboration and exploring synergies in the areas of #2D Materials (2DM) for #biomedical applications. The field of #graphene #technology has witnessed a significant breakthrough, thanks to a remarkable paper that showcases the ability to differentiate between different types of #milk, as well as between pristine and adulterated milk, different types of coke drinks, types of #coffee, and fresh versus stale #food, using an off-the-shelf #chip, all with the help of Machine Learning (#ML) and Artificial Intelligence (#AI). Strikingly, these feats were achieved with devices that are not functionalized, which opens doors for broad #applications and accessibility. https://lnkd.in/dkU5gkdr

🌍 Advancing sustainability and innovation! The GIANCE project’s Third General Assembly has just concluded in Karlsruhe, where partners from across Europe gathered to review progress and solidify our roadmap for multifunctional, eco-friendly materials. The meeting covered significant work packages, including material upscaling (WP2), sustainable manufacturing technologies (WP3), and life-cycle assessment (WP6). Workshops on specific User Cases created a collaborative environment, integrating results directly into practical applications. ⏮ What a week! #GrapheneWeek2024 is officially over, and we are very happy to have been part of it. Meeting, in #Prague, with research and industry representatives working in the field of 2D materials has been a pleasure. A big thanks to the Graphene Flagship, who organised the whole event, and the other 11 RIAs/IAs who sponsored the event along with Next-2Digits: 2DNeuralVision, GATEPOST, GRAPHERGIA, Project ARMS, MUNASET, 2D-BioPAD, GIANCE project, 2D-PRINTABLE, 2D ENGINE, 2DSPIN-TECH, SAFARI Project. Also thanks to the three Chairs of the Graphene Week 2024, our coordinator, Prof. Ioanna Zergioti from the National Technical University of Athens, along with Dr. Aristides Bakandritsos from Palacký University in Olomouc and Prof. Zdeněk Sofer from University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague), for the excellent contribution to the whole conference. 📽 Check out in the comments section the #video summarising the Graphene Week 2024 experience! 💡 Many interesting and valuable parallel sessions and workshops have been made during the week and we can proudly say that Next-2Digits has been involved and contributed to them in several oral and poster presentations: “Graphene integration in 200 mm MEMS production line” presented by Andreas Sandin from Silex Microsystems. “Laser-induced transfer of 2D materials: a digital fabrication method for capacitive devices” presented by Ilias Cheliotis from the National Technical University of Athens. “On the journey from Lab to Fab” presented by Alba Centeno Pérez from Graphenea. “Simulation of a Novel Graphene Photodetector for Enhanced Optoelectronic Applications” poster presented by Francis (Yu) Tian Tian from Ommatidia LIDAR. Several dissemination and informative materials, were also present, showcasing the project's motives, goals, and expected impact. All these are available and downloadable on the Next-2Digits website - www.next-2digits.eu ❗ During this week the whole Next-2Digits consortium had also the chance to meet and discuss further the latest results developed within the first year, where wafer platforms for the graphene transfer processes have been set up and the mask designs and full process flows have been made.
