The Greenough team was proud to support our client Rivermoor Energy with the opening of the country’s newest #EV fast-charging hub in Deerfield, MA. In just 10 and a half months, Rivermoor and the Town of Deerfield partnered and executed on the construction of this new parking lot that includes four new EV chargers, plus the installation of permeable asphalt and rain gardens, all funded by a $2.46 million federal Charging and Infrastructure (CFI) grant. On November 15, we celebrated with a ceremonious ribbon cutting at the new charging site joined by state officials from Congressman Jim McGovern’s office, State Representative Natalie Blais’ and State Senator Jo Comerford’s offices, and leaders at the Federal Highway Administration, Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, MassDOT, and Eversource Energy. This installation is monumental, as it marks the first CFI grant project to be completed in the Eastern United States and is also compliant with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program. Congratulations to all who had a part in this project, including Autel Energy, Eaton, Rexel Energy Solutions USA, and Weston & Sampson Engineers (photo credit). To learn more, check out John H. Tourtelotte’s, Founder and Managing Director of Rivermoor Energy, conversation with the Boston Business Journal (linked in comments). If you are traveling for the #holiday season, be sure to check out this EV charging hub off I-91!

Thinking about what the election results could mean for #AI regulations? Christopher Escobedo Hart, partner and co-chair of the privacy and data security practice group at Foley Hoag LLP, broke down what we might expect with Techstrong.ai ⬇
What could the Trump administration mean for #AI regulation? With President-elect Trump likely to dismantle Biden’s AI safeguards, the U.S. could see a major shift in its AI regulatory landscape Christopher Escobedo Hart, partner and co-chair of the privacy and data security practice group at Foley Hoag LLP, warns that removing these safeguards may reduce red tape, but it could also open the door for foreign competitors to gain ground in AI development. Rohan Kulkarni from HFS Research notes that a decentralized approach to AI policy, which aligns with the administration’s stance on other issues, may leave AI regulation largely in the hands of individual states and agencies. This shift could accelerate tech innovation in some regions, but create a patchwork of standards across the country. Phil Fersht, CEO & Chief Analyst of HFS Research, adds a caution: while reduced oversight could fuel innovation, the lack of federal guardrails might lead companies to become risk-averse, stalling adoption amid regulatory uncertainty. He also noted that much may hinge on Elon Musk’s influence, potentially benefiting Musk’s interests over the country’s. What impact do you think this shift will have on AI development in the U.S.? More thoughts ⬇️ in Techstrong.ai. Thanks for connecting, Jon Swartz! #AIRegulation #Policy #Innovation #Technology

⚡️ Another shakeup in the search landscape has arrived—and it has marketers on the edge of their seats! 📣 OpenAI announced the addition of a search engine directly inside the ChatGPT apps and website, introducing a new era for search and raising questions—and opportunities—across industries. 💡 Following the unveiling of the engine, Botify's Global VP, A.J. Ghergich, connected with Ina Fried to discuss this change amid evolving consumer behaviors and the implications it may have for businesses being found online. 🤔 Why are consumers so drawn to the new engines? #GenAI tools like #ChatGPT are changing the game, offering not just search results, but tailored answers that evolve based on user interactions and they are much more conversational in nature! 🎯 Though the search landscape can feel like a moving target, consumer intent remains unchanged, and the fundamentals marketers have come to know are still critical for a go-forward strategy. ⚠️ This new development won't only impact #marketing, it's also going to impact #PR and #communications! ChatGPT's search interface opens new doors for PR professionals to get immediate access to news and key insights nearly instantaneously in an incredibly digestible way. Expect to have more access to data and industry news, with context, faster than ever. More on OpenAI's new search engine below 👇
