GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (IE) recently hosted a Corporate Workday event with our sponsor, Edison International. Edison International has been a major supporter of our work in the IE region, and we were so excited to have the opportunity to host some of their employees on one of our clients' homes, where we were installing a no-cost solar system! Edison International employees participated on-site with our crew from start to finish, learning the ins-and-outs of solar technology while teambuilding in a very unique setting. We are proud to bring them an experience where they were able to directly contribute to building a cleaner and more resilient future while witnessing firsthand the impacts that Edison International is having on an inclusive clean energy future! #solar #solarenergy #renewables #renewableenergy #climateaction #environment #CSR #EdisonInternational

GRID Alternatives is proudly celebrating our 20th year of building community-powered solutions to advance economic and environmental justice through renewable energy, and our work is made possible with partners like United Airlines! In these twenty years, GRID has successfully implemented over 97 megawatts of solar projects for more than 32,700 income-qualified families across the nation. This means we have provided underserved families with an estimated total lifetime energy cost savings of $739 million since 2004. Additionally, GRID's workforce development programs have provided hands-on job training in clean energy technologies to over 33,900 individuals, with the aim of building diversity and inclusion in the industry. Today, GRID is a leading voice in low-income solar policy and the nation’s largest nonprofit solar installer. Our impact extends beyond borders, reaching families across the nation as well as Tribal communities and communities across Nepal, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. United Airlines first supported GRID Alternatives in 2015, initially focused on advancing our work in Colorado. In 2020, United Airlines deepened its commitment to supporting GRID’s work on a national scale, through both philanthropic funding as well as access to United Airlines flights for mission-related travel. This support ensures that we can continue to expand our work to empower resilience by bringing clean energy technology and clean energy job training to new communities across the United States and internationally. We are inspired by the commitment United Airlines makes to invest in sustainability goals and environmental justice movements. United Airlines has also had the opportunity to participate in corporate workdays, giving their employees the opportunity to experience solar installations on client homes, and allowing them to directly contribute to building a cleaner and more resilient future while witnessing firsthand the impacts that United Airlines is having on an inclusive clean energy future. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we want to give a special shout-out to our partnership with United Airlines as they continue to empower our positive impacts. Our vision of an equitable transition to clean energy that includes everyone is made possible by the continued support and collaboration with our partners and communities. We extend heartfelt gratitude to United Airlines, and look forward to the future of our impactful partnership! ✈️⚡

Pacific Premier Bank is proud to deliver a 2024 AHEAD Program grant in the amount of $76,436 in partnership with Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco to GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID) that will help boost economic vitality in Riverside, CA. GRID is one of the largest nonprofit providers of low-carbon solutions, and provides workforce development training through solar installation, electric vehicle charging station builds, and rebate administration. GRID expanded its training program into Tribal communities, ensuring that individuals most affected by economic and environmental inequities are the ones who are leading and benefiting from the growing energy economy. This project will train individuals from Tribes about solar construction and provide paid hands-on experience. Earlier this fall, GRID's Bay Area North Coast team visited Mendocino College in Ukiah, California to share our work with the college's new Introduction to Photovoltaics class. Our staff spent the day with students, sharing about our workforce development programs and the opportunities offered in the growing solar industry.   More recently, we were able to host 20 students from Mendocino College along with their professor, to experience a solar installation first-hand. We want to say a big thank you to our partners at Mendocino College and Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians for making this experience for the students possible.   We’re proud to work together to build a sustainable future, one project at a time! Stay tuned as we will be sharing more about this installation and who we were able to serve.   #GRIDAlternatives #WorkforceDevelopment #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #NorthCoastCA #NorthernCalifornia #CommunityPowered #HandsOnExperience #SustainableFuture
