In this role, an individual must be willing and able to travel to client sites across the state as needed. Successful candidates will be highly motivated to help communities and organizations prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural hazards and human-caused disasters. Additionally, successful candidates will have a functioning understanding of emergency management processes and policies at the local, state, and federal levels, including knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs and frameworks. The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season officially ended on November 30 after a record-breaking year of above-normal activity. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), of the 18 named storms this season, 11 intensified into hurricanes, and five became major hurricanes.
