Our employees from Houston, Texas, came together this month to share a meal and give back to the community. With employees representing multiple business lines, including our RPS operations, this was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about other Tetra Techers. The team created cards for hospitalized children through Cardz For Kidz, which is dedicated to uplifting spirits across the globe by delivering inspiring handmade cards. They also enjoyed their colleagues’ delicious chili recipes and voted for our Houston chili champion, Jeff Blanken. 🏆 Our Heather Dial shared, “This event is a fantastic example of how team building goes beyond the office. It's about fostering collaboration, creativity, and giving back to the community. Our team worked together to cook, create, and contribute, creating memories, bonding, while making a positive impact. Huge shout out to Rachel Williams, who led this effort!” #LifeAtTetraTech #TtGivesBack

Our team really enjoyed connecting with so many amazing small businesses at the Society of American Military Engineers Small Business Conference. We’re honored to have been recognized by SAME’s Small Business Community of Interest for the “Best Booth” in the Large Business Category. The judges recognized our diligent efforts to create a space that was welcoming for meeting with small business partners. Every time we attend a #SAMESBC, we’re reminded why we put so much time and care into our small business partnerships: – The technical innovation and new perspectives that come from small businesses – The deep and shared commitment to providing the best service to our clients – The amazing people who we feel lucky to call partners, collaborators, and oftentimes friends We believe we are the ideal partner for small businesses and strive to live up to that on every project. If you missed us at #SAMESBC24, let's talk about how we can work together. Get in touch here: https://hubs.la/Q02ZtLXg0.

How can a large city reduce carbon emissions from a portfolio of more than 1,200 buildings? The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering is working to retrofit municipally owned buildings to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2045. Glumac, part of the Tetra Tech High Performance Buildings Group, is working with the City to create a leading-edge, 12-year building decarbonization work plan for city-owned municipal facilities. Key benefits include: 1. Helping the City better understand regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and successful policies and strategies from other municipalities 2. Identifying key building decarbonization opportunities that will reduce #GHG emissions, while improving the overall resiliency of City operations 3. Establishing an equitable prioritization criteria that allows the City’s plant to evolve and adapt as external conditions change over time 4. Developing a custom building decarbonization tracking tool that integrates with the City’s asset management system to accurately track progress Have questions about decarbonizing your building portfolio? What happens when you put a bunch of offshore wind experts on a boat? (No, this is not the opening to a joke.) Tetra Tech offshore wind leaders from Australia, the United Kingdom, and United States have been meeting this week to discuss industry trends, innovation, and collaboration opportunities to bring the best of our services to our clients around the world. They got out of the meeting room and into the field for some inspiration on the water—a site visit to the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind project under construction in Massachusetts. Tetra Tech provides protected species monitoring and mitigation support during construction and developed the oil spill response plan for the project. Some of the team had not seen an offshore wind project of this magnitude before. Getting an up-close look at the project brought a new perspective on the potential of offshore wind and the importance of the work Tetra Tech does every day. In this excerpt from their conversation Zoe Roberts, Senior Energy Consultant with Glumac, discusses why asset owners should act now.
