This holiday season, Hy-Vee donated 9,000 cookies to Operation Santa parties across Iowa. These parties were hosted by Foster SQUAD and Four Oaks to help bring joy to more than 4,000 Iowa children in foster and kinship care. Children and their families enjoyed decorating cookies together as well as taking part in other festivities. A big thanks to our bakery vendor – Rise Baking Company for also donating 61 buckets of icing to decorate the cookies.

Spreading Holiday Cheer Together! Hy-Vee and Hormel Foods are proud to continue our tradition of giving back through the annual Hams for the Holidays! This year, we partnered with local food banks and first responders to distribute 5,000 hams across 18 cities in our region. Since the start of this incredible partnership in 2016, we’ve provided over 40,000 hams to families across the Midwest, making the holiday season a little brighter for so many. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Supporting the communities that support Hy-Vee is always part of our mission - and during the holiday season, it means a little bit more. This month more than 30 Helpful Smiles from our Hy-Vee Store Development Group came together for our third annual Variety Bike Build. These master builders constructed 200 bikes in just under two hours. These bikes will help children and families served by Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa enjoy outdoor activities together as well as learn about safety and responsibility. Hy-Vee has been a supporter of Variety for nearly four decades.

Since launching our One Step program in 2011, we've proudly supported MEALS FROM THE HEARTLAND, a nonprofit dedicated to providing packaged meals to malnourished families worldwide. This month, Hy-Vee employees and their families gathered to package meals in preparation for the holiday season. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and employees, we've donated and packaged more than 20 million meals for Meals from the Heartland. By purchasing One Step cereal at your local Hy-Vee, we can continue to help provide even more meals to families in need around the globe.

Hy-Vee's Chairman and CEO Jeremy Gosch was recently honored as the 2024 Retail Leader of the Year by the Iowa Grocery Industry Association. This award honored Gosch's long history of retail leadership across multiple areas of Hy-Vee, his ability to hit the ground running as Hy-Vee's newest CEO, and Hy-Vee's long history of supporting Iowa communities and the grocery industry across the state. He was presented with the award by Hy-Vee President Donna Tweeten. Congratulations, Jeremy!

Hy-Vee has been supporting Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa  for nearly four decades. We are thrilled to help Variety provide transportation to and from afterschool programs which help children thrive. Just a way we continue to make lives easier, healthier and happier.

Our Hy-Vee stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day to allow our employees to celebrate with the ones they love. We hope all our customers and partners are having a wonderful celebration, too. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you Hy-Vee customers! Because of your incredible generosity, we raised more than $200,000 to support veterans and active-duty military. We’re also grateful to everyone who joined us for our 25th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast. This year, we proudly served more than 94,000 breakfasts to veterans and service members across our nine-state region. Veterans Day may have passed, but at Hy-Vee, our commitment to honoring and supporting the military community continues year-round.
