Exciting news from our portfolio company EXA Infrastructure today. EXA announced an agreement to acquire Aqua Comms, a specialist operator of Transatlantic and intra-European subsea infrastructure. Together, the companies will be able to meet the growing demand for AI, cloud and content connectivity.
📢 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗘𝗫𝗔 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Today, we’re thrilled to announce we entered into agreement to acquire Aqua Comms, a specialist operator of Transatlantic and intra-European subsea infrastructure. This marks another major step in our mission to provide robust, diverse, and scalable digital infrastructure at scale. Aqua Comms’ subsea cable systems – including America Europe Connect (AEC-1, AEC-2, AEC-3), CeltixConnect (CC-1, CC-2) – will join EXA Infrastructure’s network of over 150,000km of digital infrastructure across 37 countries and 20 cable landing stations. Together, we’ll create a modern Transatlantic platform designed to meet the growing demand for AI, cloud, and content connectivity. As Jim Fagan, our CEO, states: "The acquisition of Aqua Comms demonstrates our commitment to expanding connectivity and ensuring our customers have access to more routes, more capacity, and increased diversity – all powered by a scaled platform." This acquisition underscores our vision to serve the critical connectivity needs of tomorrow’s digital economy.
