ICF reposted this
In the midst of the catastrophic wildfire emergency in Los Angeles, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)'s HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is monitoring hospitals and shelters in case they need additional responders, medical equipment and/or supplies. And it operates ASPR TRACIE, a healthcare preparedness information gateway with information and resources. ICF has been proud to support ASPR TRACIE since 2015. Our team has helped TRACIE serve as a “virtual force multiplier” for emergency healthcare providers, emergency managers, healthcare coalitions, and others in Los Angeles now and in numerous emergencies in the past. In addition to the immediate responses, we offer the experiences and lessons learned from other similar emergencies in the hope that responders, providers and community members can tailor and incorporate these considerations into their own plans and policies. Last week, as countless people in California were fighting fires, treating patients, and experiencing their own losses, the TRACIE Team published Issue 20 of The Exchange, which focused on preparing for and responding to mass casualty burn incidents. https://lnkd.in/etKbz__K Our thoughts are with the people of Los Angeles and the federal, state and local responders – including ICF employees - who are working in and affected by this unprecedented incident.
