About us
Ideos Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the understanding and application of Empathic Intelligence (MQ) in cultural and communal reconciliation. At Ideos, we start from the premise that stories shape the way we see and interact with the world and the people around us, and that our ability to empathize with people different from us is almost entirely realized by being in contact with their stories. From there we focus on helping individuals and communities understand not only what empathic intelligence is, but more importantly its role in solving real human problems.

In the last four days leading up to the election, we’re offering four additional reflections from new partners (Carlos L Malavé, Mako Nagasawa, Pete Enns) and also our founder, Christy Vines. May we remember to look for opportunities for unity in these last days and prepare to be agents of God’s love. #thereunionproject #31daysofunity

Our culture is marked by antagonism and polarization. The (Re)union Project seeks to counteract this by moving Christians from division to a Christ-centered movement of renewal and healing. If we can’t create authentic unity in the church, how can we bring it to our world? #ReunionProject #31DaysOfUnity

In the latest episode of For the Church and the World, put out by the Yale Center for Faith & Culture, our founder Christy Vines joins host Evan Rosa to discuss politics, unity, and empathic intelligence. In their conversation, Christy reflects on how politics has increasingly become a source of identity, overshadowing spirituality and how we often mistake unity for sameness. She emphasizes how instead, there is a deep need for empathy and diversity in building real unity, grounded in the life and teachings of Christ. This conversation reminds us that unity isn’t about conformity but celebrating differences and cultivating trust and care across divides. It’s the heavenly sandpaper Christy mentions—rubbing against one another to refine ourselves into a stronger, unified body of Christ. Listen to hear how empathic wisdom, rooted in humility, can foster true unity in the Church and society: https://lnkd.in/gsaQgV8m And don’t miss out ongoing 31 Days of Unity campaign, leading up to the 2024 election! The Center for Christian Civics was founded by two friends oriented at opposite sides of the political spectrum who saw the need for civic discipleship. Ideos Institute reposted this
You all! We could not be more excited to have a Sacred Listening Tool as the official companion to Ideos Institute's, The (Re)Union Project 31-Days of Unity Campaign. We built these exercises specifically with this important campaign in mind as a way to help religious people find community, peace and neighbors in what might otherwise be a very tense and divisive month. The 31-Days of Unity Campaign is a way to encourage personal reflection, prayer, and embodied practice to shift our focus away from polarizing politics and towards the unifying presence of Christ, fostering a shared life that transcends election results. You can sign up on their website (https://lnkd.in/ejWqUqZC) for daily texts or to download the Sacred Listening Tool, "Fostering Empathy and Unity," that we made to support the campaign. #31DaysOfUnity #TheReunionProject #UnityInChrist #listeningissacred #elections #unity #church #empathy #religion #healing #together Josh Packard, Ph.D. Megan Bissell Christy Vines Greg Arthur Lauren Chow
