💡 Quality Management Monthly 📆 In September, IFAC released the third installment in its series of "Quality Management: Small Firm Implementation," aimed at helping small- and medium-sized practices implement the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) suite of quality management standards. Installment Two, released in July 2023, provides a step approach to identifying your quality objectives; completing your quality risk assessment process; identifying existing, or creating new, responses to those quality risks; and implementing, documenting, and communicating your system of quality management. 🔗 Take some time to read this Installment, and IFAC's full suite of Quality Management Resources at: https://lnkd.in/eVqx9GKx

Absolutely devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Imran Vanker and his daughter. Just 2 weeks ago I was on a call with him where he referred to myself and others as “giants” of the profession. No Imran, you were the giant who inspired so many of us, impacted our profession immeasurably, and enabled so many others to grow and impact beyond themselves. We only appeared as giants because we stood on your shoulders. From my very first “tea with Imran” at Auditor-General of South Africa (IYKYK) to the closing “emoji” remarks you gave in the The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors sustainability webinar last week (again IYKYK) you have been a constant source of encouragement to me, and made me believe in my own ability and potential. And reminded me of the importance of recognizing the same in others. You leave a hole in this world so big it will take all of us who you touched to fill it. My deepest condolences to Imran’s family and all who loved him.

From aligning with global sustainability standards to fostering regional collaboration, IFAC Connects MENA brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and accountancy professionals to pave the way for a greener, more resilient future in the Middle East & North Africa region. The discussions at the IFAC Connects Event in Dubai highlighted the significant opportunities for progress when centralized policy decision-making is leveraged effectively. The decision to adopt International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) Standards underscores how quickly and positively change can be achieved in the region. These gatherings serve as vital platforms to share knowledge, build capacity, and drive impactful change across our profession. We call on the accountancy and finance profession in the region to take a proactive role in engaging with regulators on the critical issue of sustainability disclosures. As global and regional expectations evolve, our collective input is essential to shape meaningful and actionable frameworks that address environmental, social, and governance priorities. Together, let’s embrace our role as change-makers and catalysts for sustainable growth. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ecwFNqkR

IFAC recognizes and supports the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) publishing its International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (ISSA) 5000. ISSA 5000 is open to all assurance providers, not just accountants. Non-professional accountants using it must meet the same regulatory standards to protect investors and consumers.
