Posts, reposts, shares, and the like do not necessarily represent the views of the journal, the Air University, the Air Force, the DOD, or other US government entities or their international equivalents.

🌏 Reflecting on a Transformative Year in the Indo-Pacific: 2024 Journal Highlights 🌊 As we close out 2024, the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs has delivered seven compelling issues that dissected the region's most critical geopolitical, environmental, and strategic challenges. Our journey through the year explored pivotal themes across diverse nations and emerging global dynamics: 📍 January-February: Deep dive into Thailand's complex foreign policy landscape, examining US-Thai relations, human rights, and regional diplomacy (guest editor Mark S. Cogan) 📍 March-April: Climate change and security - a comprehensive look at environmental challenges threatening the Indo-Pacific, advocating for collaborative regional approaches 📍 May-June: Geopolitical tensions, with focused analyses on China's strategic ambitions, information warfare, and democratic governance in the region 📍 July-August: Homeland defense strategies, exploring threats, alliances, and innovative approaches to securing the Indo-Pacific region (guest editors Rick Newton, PhD & Cameron Carlson) 📍 August (Special Issue): An in-depth exploration of Sri Lanka's strategic, economic, and humanitarian dimensions 📍 September-October: Australia's emerging role as a regional power, examining its evolving strategic posture and influence (guest editor Andrew Dowse) 📍 November-December: New Zealand's delicate foreign policy navigation between US-China competition and regional partnerships (guest editors Alexander C. Tan & Orson T.) Each issue challenged conventional thinking, brought together military leaders, academics, and policy experts, and provided nuanced perspectives on the region's most pressing challenges. Many of the issues were collaborations with other organizations, including Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs, Homeland Defense Institute (HDI), Kansai Gaidai University, United States Air Force Academy, UAF College of Business and Security Management, and others. Interested in geopolitics, strategic studies, or regional dynamics? We highly recommend exploring these thought-provoking volumes. We also encourage you to submit your work to us in 2025. We are actively seeking works on space operations and security in the Indo-Pacific, the western Indian Ocean, ontological power in the region, and ASEAN. #IndoPacific #geopolitics #strategy #internationalrelations #defense #greatpowercompetition #China #publishing Air University Air University Press U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Pacific Air Forces United States Space Force Daniel K.
