A retired Texas judge who signed #RobertRoberson’s execution warrant earlier this year has recused herself from his case, after Robert’s attorneys, citing her invalid assignment and apparent bias, had asked to remove her earlier this year.

The stakes for people like #RobertRoberson are too high for judges to allow unreliable, biased techniques into their courtrooms. We must expect better from our legal system, or innocent people will continue to spend decades behind bars or even be executed.

A Texas state lawmaker has introduced legislation to eliminate the death penalty in the state amid #RobertRoberson's high-profile fight to stop his execution.

We urge Anderson County District Attorney Allyson Mitchell to hold off on asking a judge to set a new execution date for #RobertRoberson until she has fully considered all the new evidence in the case, including any testimony he may give.
